I'm going for afternoon tea at the savoy in London tomorrow and I have no idea what to wear. My stuff is mainly jeans casual or evening dressy, I don't really have posh daywear Confused or smart trousers

I have lots of different bits can anyone suggest or put together an outfit that might be suitable?? I have a smart black blazer, black or burgundy cord skinnies, heels.. Any ideas?

Hi there, lucky you! I hope you have a lovely time.

You could check the website and see if they have a dress code, or just call the hotel and ask.

These days, the very wealthy ( Russians usually, but not wanting to offend anyone), don't have much sense of occassion and I bet you'll find them there in jeans and very casual clothes. Sadly these hotels can't or won't turn down the money, so standards can drop.

So, yes it's nice to dress up a bit. The staff will probably thank you for it.

Evening dressy would be over the top.
If you have only fairly casual stuff, just put it together as best you can. Yes, a blazer would be good, and heels would give a sense of occasion.

If you like black, wear it. Black usually covers all bases.

Without actually seeing your wardrobe contents, it's a bit tricky, but dress up what you have as best you can, if you don't want to buy anything new.

HTH and enjoy!

Thanks aton, Ive been lookig through my wardrobe and it will def have to be the black blazer and prob going to try this look. It's smart casual I think but I have read people go in jeans as well so I should be in the middle somewhere :)

Not sure whether to go with boots (more comfy) or heels for this look

hi, nice look.
weather meant to be fine tomorrow. I think.
If your heels kill you, put on boots. heels dressy, boots not so, but if you are going to have to hoof it round London, i'd probably go for comfort.

Am v envious, what a lovely way to spend a Friday afternoon!

have fun.

I did tea at the Ritz last year so similar dress code. As I also had a full day walking around London I had a plain blue jersey dress, smart coat and boots. This seemed to be a fairly safe outfit choice looking at others around me.

It was too warm for that jumper today so I ended up wearing a green mint velvet dress with a black lace shrug.. People were actually fairly dressed up with a couple of groups of young men who were dressed fairly scruffily Hmm
Really really lovely afternoon would recommend the savoy to anyone for afternoon tea, gorgeous setting and really friendly helpful staff Grin
