Cut off trainer socks that don't fall?

That really. I cannot wear trainers without socks, I find them very uncomfortable and my feet get cold! I Bought some low cut puma socks from jd sports but they end up scrunched aty toes within 5 steps, making them even more uncomfortable! I don't like the look of thick white mid-calf sports socks, is there an alternative? Thanks

The best I've found are from Primark. I think they were the ones branded as "yoga socks" or something similar. Thickish towelling fabric and generously sized, plain white with a bright neon line around the sole.

I find primark's the best too. I get the black ones and they don't fall down.

Maraki · 12/03/2015 09:35

Wow! Thank you, I expected recommendations for something really expensive! I'm pleasantly surprised. Off to primark then! Thx x

I got some from M&S eons ago. They're my gym socks they're so good!

deadwitchproject · 12/03/2015 12:09

Thank you from me too!

I've been looking for a pair since I bought my new Ash trainers (not sure if Ash is no longer fashionable but they're so comfortable).

I like Primark's men's trainer socks as they're a 6-12 so are much roomier for my size 8 feet.

TheCraicDealer · 12/03/2015 13:01

These socks from Next are good, they have a gel bit on the heel to stop them slipping down your feet. They’re lower cut than normal trainer socks, can’t see them under trainers or pumps with a higher cut.

MsBojangles · 12/03/2015 13:07

Sweaty Betty are the only ones that stay put on me.

dotty2 · 12/03/2015 13:10

I had some Under Armour ones that were good. I think choosing sports ones rather than fashion is a good idea (though looks like Primark might do the job too!)

Germgirl · 12/03/2015 13:33

M&S were good last year. They have some that have a kind of ribbed bit which goes round the foot under the instep. They stay on really well. I also bought some CK ones from tk maxx that stay on well.

I second the suggestion of buying men's socks if your feet are at the top of the one size fits all women's range of 4-7.

PinkSquash · 12/03/2015 14:23

I wear mens ones- size 9-11 and they're lovely. Always size up

Maraki · 12/03/2015 14:41

Aha! That could be where I may be going wrong. I'll try mens socks, as I have size 8 feet. Thank you everyone!!

Primark I buy the little tiny trainer socks don't know if they have a specific name but the ones you can't see when wearing trainers

SoupDragon · 12/03/2015 15:32

I have size 8 feet

Yes, I think that is your problem :) The Primark ones are 4-8 which is probably why I find them so good - my feet are a 7 so the 4-7 ones are on the small side.

Random place to buy socks but I like these no-show socks from GAP, so far they stay put and are almost completely hidden by my trainers:

www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=1006201&vid=1&pid=000225152005

The reason I discovered them was I needed to spend just a few pounds more to qualify for free delivery, now I add them each time I do an order and get free delivery.
