nose piercing

I really like the idea of having my nose pierced. Nothing too outrageous, just a small stud. The problem is I am a teacher and this kind of thing us frowned upon in the school I work.
I am wondering if I got my nose pierced at the start if the summer holidays would I be able to take it out during the 2 days I work at the start of the new term, or would it close up during that time?
Also would the hole left behind be really noticeable?

Sorry for the typos, posting while not wearing my glasses probably isn't my best idea!

Nose piercings tend to take at least 6 weeks to heal but you'd have to keep another stud / ring in it for at least 6 months really non stop to stop it closing up completely. You can get retainer jewellery that is made of clear sterile plastic that you can use so the piercing is less visible.

Make sure you get it done at a proper piercing studio with a needle and not a gun (sorry if you already know all this!)

To be honest if it's frowned on at work I'm not sure it's the greatest idea... when I had my nose pierced you could see a small ish hole even when I didn't have my stud in. After a while I got fed up with it and decided to let it close up, there's still a small scar.

(Dh used to work in a very good piercing studio).
