Watching with interest (I'm a 45 yr old oil slick) ........

mowglik · 09/03/2015 22:40

Have you tried the oil cleansing method? I have crazy oily skin and that and using queen Helene mint julep mask as a face wash are the only things that ever make a difference

Do you go to Asda? It may sound crazy but they sell a mattifying moisturizer called "Young Skin" and it's only a quid. Thing is it really, really works to mattify. I think it's aimed at teens but honestly it's great for reducing the oilies. Comes in a white tube, you can find it sold with all the Oxy that sort of thing. Great under make up too. Honestly it will sort your t-zone out, it's beter than a lot of mattifying gels/ pore minimizers specifically formulated for that area that I've tried.

Double cleanse with coconut oil and follow with the Neutrogena pink grapefruit wash. Then use milk of magnesia as a primer. This is key. It's miraculous. No more oil slick!

If you're oily decleor Ylang ylang serum & balm. Only for oily skin not combination though as it's quite drying.

Chicinwellies · 10/03/2015 12:58

Wow, thank you ! I have to try all of these. Must admit I had tried the grapfruit wash (seperately) and not seen a significant result so will follow those three steps and see how I go.
Will definately go to Asda and try the moisturiser, esp for a quid, and then decleor if no success! Thank you all x

I don't know what kind of products you are currently using, but too harsh products that strip the skin of the natural oils can make the skin even more oily.

Hourglass mineral veil primer. Or to save ££ lanacne anti chafing gel :)

piercedprincess · 10/03/2015 20:22

Good luck with it, let us know how you get on with everything Smile

I really rate Boots No7 Beautiful Skin range for oily skin, particularly the day and night moisturisers.

I'm 44 and always had oily skin. The very best thing for my skin is OCM. I use castor and sweet almond oil.

Another one with oily skin, oil cleansing works wonders, I use almond, avocado and castor oil with a few drops of Vitamin E for good measure.
