Is it acceptable to remove boots in office if not dealing with the public please?

Depends on the office, some work places are more formal than others regardless of them being public .
Are the boots being replaced by flat shoes/ slippers / nothing ?

nickycrapper · 09/03/2015 14:03

Had'nt really thought of that but love the idea of slippers or nothing if poss

Absolutely not in my office. And even the process of changing from trainers for the commute to working shoes takes place in the cloakrooms not in the office.

No way you are at work not on your sofa watching tv.........

I wouldn't make a habit of it but a few times when the weather was awful I wore wellies in.

I walk my son to school on the way in and had my own bag, his bag and holding his hand sop rather than carry shoes just went in tights feet in the office. No one minded. I work in an architects in Hereford.

I work in the most informal place imaginable, we don't deal with the public and no one sees us. But this is an absolute no for us. The only acceptable thing to do if you come in wellies is bring shoes, not slippers. You can have pink hair, piercings, wear what the hell you want - ripped jeans, docs, whatever - but you must wear shoes or boots at all times and will be spoken to if you pad about in stocking feet! It's not even a health and safety thing, it's a bog standard office but shoes are a must. So even in an informal place I wouldn't do it - sorry!

Guess it depend on workplace, I didn't find it an issue though and hopefully still looked smart.

I wear slip on shoes. I'm currently say at my desk without my shoes on. BUT should I get up to go anywhere, I will slip them back on.
So no walking about in my socks, but as often as not, no shoes on while at my desk.
