paint (oil based) on knitwear

A favourite cardigan (wool, fine) has a very thin line, long of white oil-based paint on it. I've taken it to dry cleaners, but they said nothing they can do.

Is there anyway I can hide the paint, somehow? It's on the back of one sleeve (running down across back of elbow). The cardigan is a kind of greenish-blue and other than the paint is still in perfect condition.

Turpentine will remove it, though if you've already had it dry cleaned will not be as effective. Make sure you rinse it very well after to ensure it doesn't detoriate the wool. You may want to air it too as turps smells very strong.

Go easy and don't soak it in turps but try to dap of the paint, section by section.

Thanks - I'll try that
