for an informal wedding in April. I'm short, size 18, defined waist, pale skin, blue/grey eyes/ dark shoulder length hair that I'll curl. hate my arms so would need a cardi or something with either.

I like the Boden one. but the navy one feels like the easy safe option. i dont particularly like it but think it might actually look better in than the grey one. cash strapped but both on sale on FB near me in my size. have tried neither on, but could make minor adjustments if I needed to.

last minute buyi g as dress I wanted to wear is too tight. I'm losing g weight but I feel pretty rubbish about my weight at the moment so just want to feel comfortable and pretty.

The first one grey is much more suited I think. All one colour will always make you look slimmer than a pattern dress. Maybe some nudehigh heels you will look fan in that I love the detail around waist and with your defined waist you will look very feminine and pretty x

honeylou42 · 07/03/2015 11:09

The grey one Smile

MyNameIsSuz · 07/03/2015 11:09

I like the monsoon one better but I'm not a fan of boden, they seem to be made for taller people than me. Could you ask the people selling on fb if you could try on?

AmyElliotDunne · 07/03/2015 11:09

Is it going to be the white & gold vs blue and black thing again?!

PhilomenaSkunk · 07/03/2015 11:12

consensus already! I do really like the grey one. looks much more stylish... and not "wedding" so wearable to other things. hmmm. have a fee hours left to decide. of course both could if course be totally different colours IRL Wink

I think the grey one too, but obvs difficult to say without seeing it on. The soft gathers on that one and the jewelled detail will draw attention up towards your (magnificent I'm sure!) cleavage, whereas the tie detail on the other one draws the eye down to the waist, which (as a similar size to you) is my least fave bit!

AmyElliotDunne · 07/03/2015 11:18

Sorry, just seen that you DO have a defined waist (lucky you!) but even so, I think the grey one will look nicer Smile

PhilomenaSkunk · 07/03/2015 11:20

well its as defined as can be carrying 4 extra stone Amy! Shock Shock

The Boden one is much nicer! I really like it in the navy rather than grey though. I love coral with navy or grey so maybe coral cardi and shoes to brighten it up? And a sparkly clutch to match the detailing.

Ilovenannyplum · 07/03/2015 15:58

I think the 2nd one is really pretty Smile
but I seem to be one of the only ones!

TheHappinessTrap · 07/03/2015 16:00

The Boden one is so pretty!

PhilomenaSkunk · 07/03/2015 16:25

only option on Boden one is grey.

what colour cardi? I have loads

thinking pewter shoes

OP posts:
PhilomenaSkunk · 07/03/2015 16:26

I'd go coral or pink for accessories for a wedding rather than navy.

mummop25 · 07/03/2015 18:21

I could be the only other person who prefers option 2.

Patterns/prints is the master of disguise- hide curves well plus v neck works if you are heavy chested.

Again I'm going based on what suits a curvy person. One colour but with the clinch in the middle you are bringing the eye towards the middle ( though I got the impression you were looking to take attention away from it ).

If you are heavier at the top fine knit tops will not add bulk and will be flattering.

Lambzig · 07/03/2015 20:04

Definitely the grey one. I think the sleeves will be much more flattering.

PhilomenaSkunk · 07/03/2015 21:12

mummy that's why I looked at the navy one - that seems like the safe option. guaranteed to hide anything BUT i always end up in floral stuff for that reason. the grey one seems more stylish.... but I could end up looking like a bag of spanners unless I double up on span x

Flambola · 07/03/2015 22:25

I like the second one.
