Boots no 7 lipstick colour match service? Any good?

I need a new red lippy and can't afford Mac

I usually wear Russian red but can't justify 15 quid on that atm. So was going to try the colour match thing at boots

Has anyone tried it and was it good?

Ive tried it, I always wanted a red but could never find one. Used the match service and got 3 really good colours that have changed my look!

Yes I tried it in the quest for the perfect red. I've just got to be brave enough to wear it now

I tried it, and bought a peachy brown but although it looked great in the shop, I found the colour too bright in daylight so have hardly worn it.

I used this for lippy, but not for a red. I'm really pleased with the ones I bought.

I also got my foundation done at the same time- I'd really recommend it too.

No 7 love red is a dupe for the Mac one. They have discontinued it but you can still buy it online. It's actually a better formulation than the Mac one.

I have tried the colour match service and the foundation looked grey ( the first two were too orange that the machine matched me up) and then it was suggested Rose Beige would be a match and it looked like I had a bright pink face.

The new lipsticks now are pretty vile. All sorts of brilliant red corals and fuchsias. Very garish.

I was matched to cool ivory (from memory as I can't find the card) and my closest red match was soft paprika which the boots staff member brought up on the device as it gave the closest 2 red shades.

My experience was awful; assistant hummed and hahed before showing me a horrible shade of gaudy coral that made my mouth look like a button

Thought it was a great service, having been somewhat sceptical. A bright pink was on my suggested colours list and it has transformed my make-up "look", and will now keep buying.

I also think it lasts quite well for a lipstick (though I an under the opinion that it doesn't pay to spend a lot on lipstick as I think the expensive ones don't last longer)

I have had my foundation and lipstick match done. I liked the foundation match and think the colour is just right.
I didn't like the lipstick colours at all. Far too coral for me and made me look older.
But that may be because I tend to wear gloss rather than lipstick so I might not have liked any colour.

I was given a hideous bright pink that I wouldn't wear in a million years, I burst out laughing when she applied it and showed me in the mirror - not the response she was hoping for I don't think.

Their foundations don't run light enough for me anyway and all the lippies are too pink. I bought one in Ginger Rose or something which turned out to be far too dark and they gave me a refund.

If you've got one you love, I'd save time and pay the extra fiver and get the MAC one :)

Well I went and it was rubbish

First of all I waited 15 mins for another lady to be made up. And then got ignored when she'd finished

So I went off in a huff and said I'm going to go to Mac seeing as I'm being ignored

Didn't go to Mac, went to the other branch of boots in my town . Apparently I'm cool Ivory or something. Tried on a few and they were all minging

Thought sod it then and went to Mac and they were just too full of goddamm Other People for me to even be arsed to wait. Grrr

Buy the Mac one.
You're just postponing the inevitable.
