Please help dress me for visit to DH's potential employers....

OK, so DH has a job offer, subject to getting visas.
Now both of us have been invited to the London office to get more info.
What do I wear? I won't be working for them, but DH will, and we are visiting them at work.

To add to the mix, due to the location we are moving to, I feel I should cover elbows and knees, and nothing tight over my bum.

I'm a size 14, with a waist and big norks, big arse and big hips!

Typically, I would wear something like top, cardi and trousers with black flats to work.

Would I be able to put something like blue skater dress or stripy dress over trousers like above (currently got charcoal and grey trousers) with flats?

Or any other suggestions?

I think the skater dress would look better with tights.
What is your usual weekend style? Can you wear a smartened version of that? what about a tunic over leggings? With boots and a coat. That would be quite modest.

DessertOrDesert · 06/03/2015 20:45

Weekend is jeans (stonewashed bootlegs) and teeshirt of the very basic type so not sure it would smarten very well.

I basically live in work trousers or jeans ie I have no fashion sense!

What sort of tunic would you suggest?

Definitely not the trousers under those dresses. Thick tights would be perfect.

DessertOrDesert · 06/03/2015 20:57

I don't think I'll get away with thick tights in terms of acceptability.
I need trousers or a full length dress / skirt. I don't usually wear skirts or dresses.....
So, back to the drawing board. Any suggestions?

Thank-you

I'm guessing it's for a Middle East job? Depends where in the ME.

PrimalLass · 06/03/2015 21:22

And thanks for linking to that top. I love it in that colourGrin Off to purchase.

KSA.
Conservative is the name of the game, hence me being concerned about just the UK visit!!!

I take it you mean the phase8 top? Yep. I love bright colours too, which I guess I'm going to need to turn down!

What about getting a loose blouse/shirt?

Lovewearingjeans · 07/03/2015 09:11

I have a couple of 3/4 sleeve dresses from White stuff that I wear over skinny jeans. I can't seem to link from my iPad, so I'll post photos?

Lovewearingjeans · 07/03/2015 09:14

What about this over these?

Thanks, Love. There are some really nice tops in there.
Anything I could wear with straight fit trousers, rather than leggings?

What shoes if I did do leggings?? I can't do ballet pumps - I need something that will hold on - ballet pumps just seem to slip off, and I end up with aching toes from trying to scrunch them to keep shoes on.

Fussy bugger, aren't I! Would I get away with whispers, clarks??
