Dress for evening wedding reception needed

Hi lovely mumsnetters. I need your help.

I'm going to an evening reception in June and need to find a nice dress to wear. It's in a posh hotel and will be quite a small affair.

I am currently a size 12/14 but losing weight so hopefully be a 10/12 by then. I do have big boobs (32 gg/h) and even though I'm losing weight they aren't shrinking. My waist is quite defined but sits low (so long torso?) My tummy is not flat but not huge.
I'm 5 foot 5 (and a half). I have ghostly pale skin and red hair. I do have good legs so don't mind showing them a bit.

I need a nice dress that will cover by back (or maybe a shrug to go with it) as I am prone to acne breakouts on my back. I don't like floral prints or pastel/ pale colours. I suit jewel tones, particularly blues and greens. I also love black and red but thinking it might be a bit much for a summer wedding. Willing to look at other colours and ideas though if anyone thinks it could work with my colouring.

I will need shoes to go with the dress but can't walk in high heels. I can do 2-3 inch heels at a push. I can wear wedges to pretty much any heel height though.

Budget - not sure really. It depends on the dress but I was thinking around £100 to £150 for the dress and £50 for shoes but can go higher if needs be. (Or if you spot any bargains I will be happy to pay less Grin )

Any ideas appreciated - thanks

asos.com the dogs for shopping. huge range - including petite and low cost stuff too.includes shoes. they deliver to your door with free returns (I drop mine at the local esso garage).

if you order over £50 they deliver next day for free and you can try it on at home and send back what doesn't suit (I usually order loads and send 90% back). Got my daughter's prom dress from there - bottle green satin 50s style (she's the same colouring as you) for £35. looks far more expensive though. and some gorgeous silver court shoes for £25.

you cant beat it.

good luck.

Personally I would shop for the size you are now rather then banking on being smaller, you don't want to end up with a dress that doesn't fit.

I think green looks great on redheads.

Apart from Asos I would checkout House of Fraser, John Lewis and Coast.

How about something like this with chunky silver jewellery and may be a silver block heel - very fashionable but easy to walk/dance in. These are a wide fit so not necessarily right.

Linea
Sequins
Lace with a waist

Thanks for all the ideas, I haven't had a chance to look at the links yet as been really busy this weekend. I will have a quick look now and see what I think.

Twinkle, I always have to buy around a size 16 in dresses regardless of my current size to accommodate my bust. I will take it to the tailor and get altered to fit me. It was just to give people an idea of my shape.

I was hoping pepperberry might have had something suitable to avoid the hassle of getting it altered but I can't see anything.
