I have a day before my period when I get really spotty. Taking ibuprofen or naproxen before bed and using something topical to kill any germs (alcohol wipe or hibiscrub wash, etc) usually does the trick.

How is your diet? I find that I break out if I eat to much sugar (I'm 42 and still have spots!).

Also switching to the oil cleansing method has helped lots. I used coconut oil for a while as a moisturiser, but I kept getting dry flaky skin bewteen my eyebrows, so I mixed my own facial oil: 1/2 almond oil + 1/2 virgin olive oil + a few drops of lavender, it's really good and smells fantastic.

I am using an acid toner and topical freederm gel on a persistent one! Is slowly going.
