Fly London size 9

I've been eyeing some lovely boots by Fly London.

But I've ordered several size 9's from Amazon recently and I've had to send them back because they've claimed to be a 9 but are actually a size 42. Which is an 8.

Anyone experience of Fly London sizes being accurate?

watching because I am a true size 9 AKA a 43.

Next do a good 43, and asda; bizarrely.
some bits of Debenhams too. and tk maxx.

TK Maxx size 9 are always old lady shoes, I find. Or just so very very ugly. All three pairs that are in size 43.

sometimes you can be crazy lucky...or cast your eye down the male size 9's for the feminine ones.... got pink converse this way, plus some beloved G star trainer boots that were much admired, I wore them to destruction

I find Fly come up big. I am a 5. I have to order a 4. They are also normally quite wide. Have they been Amazon stock or from an external seller?

BikeRunSki · 05/03/2015 20:24

Fly London 9 are too small for me and I am a proper 42.

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2015 20:26

I should have said - I have 6 pairs of Fly London footwear - 3 x boots and 3 x shoes. I have actually ordered size 5 in the boots, although they are a little big, because i wear socks with them, and in winter, thick socks. The shoes though have been 2 x size 5, too big, too wide, but reasonable with insoles added, and 1 x size 4 which fit perfectly.

So, consistently big for me.

All from Amazon (they sometimes do excellent sales on Fly London footwear).

I'm a 43 but very narrow; a lot of shoes are too wide and my feet slide around & get sore. My feet suck.

I am a 7 and ordered uk 7 fly boots from amazon- when they came they were a 40, not a 41, but they are fine with tights- bit tight with socks- but the 41 may well have been too big. All sizing seems to have gone wierd lately and when you say a 41 is a 7 sometimes you get looks!

Pumpkinette · 06/03/2015 06:27

I'm shoe size 5 and a 1/2 and for 99% of shoe purchases I need to buy a 6 and make do as the 5 is painfully small.

I have two pairs of fly boots. One in a size 6 that are slightly too big and require me to wear 2 pairs of socks, and one in a 5 that were a little snug at first but now the leather has stretched they fit like a glove.
So I guess I would say the sizing is pretty accurate, maybe bordering in the large side.

*on the large side

41 is a 7 1/2, dead on, but most UK shoes don't come in half sizes so I never know whether I'm supposed to get a 7 or an 8 when I buy British sizes online. I just wish they'd all agree what the conversion should actually be and stick to it.

zinnia · 06/03/2015 13:10

Totally agree with you Tailsin, I think my "true" size is an 8.5 so I vary between 8s, 9s, 42s, 43s... drives me crazy.

Have always assumed New Look would be out, as their "9" on the website conversion chart is a 42, but when I finally bit the bullet and ordered from them, the shoes arrived labelled as a 43. So that's clear as mud, then.
