I'd like one but can't really find many.

Do you have any recommendations please?

If there's one things there's lots of it's Breton tops!

Try Seasalt

I've had such a hard time even finding one. I've seen one in Boden, but wasn't sure about it.

I have just bought two Boden ones (as mentioned on another thread). The only thing I have every bought from Boden but they are great as I prefer thinner ones for layering. In my recent quest I discovered:
Seasalt ones are great quality but the shoulders say funny and the sleeves were too long (I am quite tall with normal length arms!)
Joules ones are nice but rather thick for spring (more like sweatshirts)
John Lewis have quite nice own brand ones
I suspect uniqlo ones are good but no stores nearby and their sizing is sometimes huge.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 05/03/2015 14:36

This one from people tree is nice - thick cotton and washes well. It is a very slouchy shape though, size down.

withaspongeandarustyspanner · 05/03/2015 14:38

There's another thread? Sorry. I didn't see one.

I have had a uniqlo one for about 5 years!

< wondering if they have been re-released >

Murinea · 05/03/2015 15:37

I like the Boden ones, but they are indeed thin (not see-through thin or anything though). Good for layering or on their own for summer though.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 05/03/2015 15:38

I don't understand these threads. Every single clothes shop sells them Confused

My favourites are Primark, cotton/elastane, long in the body, several colourways and £4 a pop. I don't suit the boxy thick cotton type.

withaspongeandarustyspanner · 05/03/2015 16:01

That's assuming you get to go to the shops, Ballroom

Sorry that my thread annoys you so much - it wasn't what I intended. I've looked on-line and I haven't seen anything very much that fits my criteria.

I don't see a problem with asking for recommendations. It is a good idea to find out what different tops are like and what quality they are. I bought one from John Lewis' own brand that looked really lovely, and it was until I washed it. It went from being long and fitted to being short and square! Wish I could have known that before I bought it.

mewkins · 05/03/2015 17:18

Dexter, that always happens with kids' stuff I buy from JL. Without fail they go short and wide.

pinkfrocks · 05/03/2015 17:51

If JL clothes shrink- return and they should refund.

dexter73 · 05/03/2015 17:53

I did return itSmile. I also wrote a review on their website but they never published it, the sneaky so-and-so'sShock!!!

mewkins · 05/03/2015 19:55

They really need to sort it out. Their baby vests are atrocious. We warned a friend, she bought some thinking JL would be better than that. And then they shrunk badly too.

Windowbasket · 05/03/2015 19:58

I have a nice one from Jigsaw that is nicely fitted and not too heavy.

BallroomWithNoBalls · 05/03/2015 22:48

It doesn't annoy me, it just confuses me because there's a thread on this every other week and literally every clothes shop I go into has them. But I get the point about quality. I wasn't snarking - my faves are Primark for the reasons I said.

MrsGuyGarvey · 05/03/2015 22:52

I bought one recently from Uniqlo, nice and thick, has washed well.

withaspongeandarustyspanner · 05/03/2015 23:00

I don't come on to MN every week though, and S & B even less regularly.

uniqlo

Queenofknickers · 06/03/2015 16:36

I have a couple of nice ones from Boden but they are looking a bit faded and bobbly - disappointing. I might try sea salt or joules

JulesJules · 06/03/2015 16:41

Seasalt, Boden, Amazon and Gudrun Sjoden

feesh · 06/03/2015 18:18

Love my Me+Em one. I'm a saddo that bought it after the Duchess of Cambridge was papped in it. It's really lovely quality and fit and super flattering.
