Reheeling shoes & boots

wasn't sure whether to post here or in Good Housekeeping section, but can all shoes be reheeled at the shoemakers?

I have some comfy and great condition Doctor Martins and fat face boots, neither of which have your typical reheelable wooden soles, can they still be resoled/ reheeled? Have already started traipsing and asking, but am hoping that it is possible.

Any experiences with similar type heels/soles?

Doc's should be possible but likely expensive if you're cobbler orders genuine rubber soles & heels. I had a pair of non typical Clarks reheeled and it was done by cutting a heel block gap out and then filling with a new block. It's not difficult for an experienced cobbler but is often pricey and they won't guarantee the work in the same way as with normal heels. Mine cost nearly £12 just for heels, and the last time I had soles done it was nearly £25!

I have a favourite pair of boots with wood block heels and my lovely cobbler man does them every other year for me (just been done last week) he can reheel most shoes he is a superstar I don't know what I will do if he ever retires.???

And yes, be prepared to shell out - I had two pairs reheeled and soled last week and it cost FORTY FIVE POUNDS. Clearly not over it yet.
