Hi everyone,

I've got a boy (15) and a girl (8) and need some advice regarding school shopping. I've usually just bought everything from Tesco but after just refreshing the wardrobe at Christmas, the majority of clothes need replacing again! Looking ahead to back to school, i'm thinking of going down the M&S or John Lewis route so that the quality is better and the clothes last longer. Also, John Lewis have the other accessories (bags, stationary etc) also so can get everything under one roof.
Does anybody else have any recommendations on where to shop or what route they go down?

Thanks,
Jake

Nothing gets refreshed - they wear it until they can't squeeze into in any longer, or it has literally fallen apart. to be fair, they've usually grown out of it first.
DD primary uniform I get at wherever is cheapest at the time I need it - Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys or Matalan usually. I honestly don't find M&S wears as well.
DS at secondary so some of his has to be 'official' stuff, the rest is usually Asda or BHS.

DS is only in year 1. I bought his original school uniform at Asda and he'd gone through the knees by october half term ! Replaced it with Next, still going strong a year and a half later, he'll grow out of it before it wears out. Will always get Next from now on.

I buy uniform from M&S, the 5 shirts I bought for DS1 were all passed down to DS2 a year later and then passed on to a friend in September- they still look as good as when they were new. The trousers lasted a year and have been passed down to DS2 but they will only last until summer when they are replaced with shorts, as DS2 has been walking on the hem and it's a bit mushed.
