How do you organise your tops?

I'm looking for inspiration on how to organise my tops.
I have already sorted them into comfy clothes for the house and really fancy ones for going out,but still have dozens for every day, work etc
How do you organise yours? By colour or some other way?
I do have crossover between every day/work/Sunday lunch type clothes.
Any ideas? Thanks

I do mine by sleeve length / weather suitable..so I have 4 categories -vests /strapless, t shirts, long sleeve t shirts and warmer winter jumpers.

I probably have too many tops!

By colour here

I have jumpers, then long-sleeved tops, then short-sleeved tops, then vest tops, then going out tops. Within each section is colour coordinated dark to light.

most of my tops and shirts are some version of blue. I hang up the shirts and put away the t shirts and sweat shirts / sweaters in a drawer.

sometimes I have grey or black stuff and that goes together in a separate drawer.

Mine are all hanging up.

Some go in the wardrobe, some are in the ironing pile, some are in a heap on a basket at the end of my bed... Is that what you mean? Smile

I hang all of my tops, except for thick jumpers, in the colours of the rainbow. Then I can see which one I want to wear easily. I tend to choose a scarf first, then pick out the colours that tone with it. Or I choose a necklace or bracelet and do the same. Works for me!

Mine are sorted based on the following:

  • if it crumples and I feel like ironing in advance I hang it up, otherwise folded in the following categories
  • wear to work
  • wear when I'm exercising
  • nice things I wear out
  • warm stuff
  • slobbing about
  • destined for charity bin (we've just moved, I'm purging)

I have a drawer for vest/short and long sleeved Tshirts, a drawer for sweatshirts/heavier tops and two drawers for knitwear. Shirts and fancy tops hang in the wardrobe.

T shirts in a drawer rolled up like a towel.
Going out stuff on hangers in spare bedroom.
All else on a hanger in colours in my bedroom.

Vests, t-shirts and jumpers in a drawer .
Blouses, shirts, other tops hanging in colours.
