Please help me find a wedding outfit!!

We have a couple of late summer weddings, and one in October so I thought it was time to start obsessing about what to wear... They will be reasonably relaxed but chic and trendy (god help me. Using the word 'trendy' may actually reveal how untrendy I am...). Anyway, I need something potentially breastfeeding friendly, as youngest DC will still be feeding I suspect, though hopefully not that often, since she will be 1. I also need something to disguise, or at least not draw lurid attention to, the hideous varicose vein I have on my shin (thank you third pregnancy!). I am 5'9", athletic build (as in small chest and no waist. Not as in muscles, etc) size 10/12. My legs used to be my best feature, and now I am lost.... Help! Smile

I'm in the same situation. Have two weddings to go to and needed bf friendly dresses. I have got two the first is an actual breastfeeding dress

And the second is not but is be friendly in that I can get a boob out discreetly with a shawl around me Smile

Do you have any colour preferences ?

Flowerface · 03/03/2015 20:17

Ooooh! Nice! Like both of those very much. Though don't help with the flaming leg. And I can't really wear tights. Or boots. Can I? Or can I?!

Don't really have colour prefs. I am not a wildly 'colourful' person. I like the teal (if that's its name).

Really love the grey one, in fact.

I'm not a colourful person either. Bright colours just make me feel like a clown!
The first dress is online only but they do free returns bathe second does free returns as well but is also in stores. Not sure if you have an All Saints store or outlet near you but that dress is in store as well as online.

You could get away with tights/boots for October but I think they'll look a bit heavy for the summer ones.

What about this maxi dress from the site Ellis linked? I'd wear it with metallic sandals, gold bangles and hair up - maybe with something like this or this. Then for the Autumn one maybe this (or similar) with tights, metallic heels and a (teal maybe?) cardigan?

LadyB49 · 03/03/2015 21:51

Love the grey dress.
What about working with cigarette pants with a stunning jacket or blazer. Easy boob access top under the jacket. A pashmina handy for draping purposes. Heels during the day and nice pumps for when feet get tired.

What about a jumpsuit? I never thought I would say this... But it would solve the leg issue. Quite like this one:www.reiss.com/womens/jumpsuits/bramley/night-navy/

With coral accessories, or something.

Like the jumpsuit, coral would look nice (thinking big beads?) with a gold cuff and gold shoes? Only thing that would worry me would be the practicalities of going to the loo! What about printed trousers e.g. here, here, with a sequined cami and then a cropped jacket/cardigan depending on the weather?

hellsbellsmelons · 04/03/2015 12:35

Jumpsuit is lovely.

SantasFavouriteHo · 04/03/2015 12:42

I've just bought this for a wedding, it's low enough to breastfeed in and is tall so should be ok on height - www.asos.com/ASOS-Tall/ASOS-TALL-Exclusive-Floral-Maxi-With-Wrap-Front/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4706002&cid=8799&Rf981=3680&sh=0&pge=1&pgesize=204&sort=-1&clr=Floral&totalstyles=268&gridsize=3

Maxi dress is very nice. And price would be less horrifying to husband! I hadn't thought of going to the loo with a jumpsuit on.... I really like the floralish trousers but suspect (though don't know, as I don't have any) that tailored trousers might be quite unforgiving. I.e. they may make me look as though I have an enormous arse. Though I do like the idea of slightly changing the outfit for each wedding and thereby looking original and creative...

You are very clever though Tenuous, like the way many of your suggestions are on sale...
