for putting my favourite white silk shirt through the wash?

It's all rough and pebbly.

Yes, I'll cover for you

msrisotto · 01/03/2015 18:20

GUTTED. I'd kill mine. Where'd you get it from?

Mixtape · 01/03/2015 19:11

Yes. There isn't a court in the land that would convict you.

Crocodopolis · 01/03/2015 19:15

Oh, dear. Husbands: can't live with 'em; can't shoot 'em during hunting season.

TurnOverTheTv · 01/03/2015 19:17

My husband put a cashmere jumper I got from Calvin Klein in Rome on a 90 degree wash. This was in 1999 and he is now my ex. It still boils my piss when I think about it!

burnishedsilver · 01/03/2015 19:46

Nothing needs to be washed at 90 degrees!

Work away angeltulips. We've got your back.

Duckdeamon · 01/03/2015 19:51

I did this to DH's favourite posh wool jumper and shrunk it Blush. He was Sad

We have a separate wash bag for special stuff, but I got wrong setting on machine.

PeaceOfWildThings · 01/03/2015 19:52

Get him to do the digging for the new patio first!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 01/03/2015 20:13

I shrank DH's Italian cashmere jumper this week Blush. Luckily he has no interest in clothes (it was a present) and he thought it was hilarious as it would now fit 15 month old DD!

Nerf · 01/03/2015 20:15

I dyed dh's cricket kit pink by accident once Blush he was a bit furious

Nerf · 01/03/2015 20:16

But yes, kill him.

Comito · 01/03/2015 20:22

I shrunk two of DH's nice merino jumpers. On two separate occasions. Blush

The first one had got caught up in a load of other washing so I just didn't see it and the second one I had some sort of brain fart and put it on at 40 degrees. I did buy him new ones though.

Luckily, he didn't kill me.

angeltulips · 02/03/2015 00:17

It was beautiful

I can now use it to exfoliate my body it's so rough

Google tells me that soaking it in warm vinegar solution might work. I bet it doesn't. Sob.

Make him buy you a new nicer one.

ZacharyQuack · 02/03/2015 01:52

DH used my expensive, impossible to buy in this country, Tweezerman tweezers to degunk the vacuum cleaner wheels. It made the ends all jagged and rough.

I told him I was going to use them to puck out his pubes.

Whippet81 · 02/03/2015 03:38

Make it painful.

I once heard 'oh no, oh dear, oh no' type mutterings coming from the kitchen. When I was brave enough to look in DP had washed a bright red t-shirt with his whites and had a lovely collection of pink sports wear and pants.

His reasoning was that once it had been washed once it can all go in together.

Optimism · 02/03/2015 12:42

This is exactly why I would rather do all the laundry myself than let DH anywhere near the washing machine!

Greengardenpixie · 02/03/2015 12:49

Dont kill him yet. He owes you a new one [ one of your choice] Go shopping on his card. Its payback!

Stinkle · 02/03/2015 12:52

Yes!

My DH nearly copped it yesterday when he put my new favourite, brand new, only worn once, dry clean only shirt through a 60 degree wash.

Now, admittedly it was never going to see the inside of a dry cleaners, but I was going to attempt to gently hand wash it.

It survived though so he lived to see another day

HappyMedium · 03/03/2015 11:39

I have a separate my-stuff-only wash basket now for this very reason. All my wools and delicates go in there. He knows not to touch it, ever.
