Under chin hairs....red marks...help

I have a few stubborn horrible hairs under my chin that I pluck (and sometimes shave ). Lately whenever I remove them they settle into horrible red lumps/marks which look worse than the bloody hairs! I presume it's some sort of ingrowing/irritation scenario. How can I stop this hairy/red lump merry go round???

Honestly, the only thing that stops that IME is laser hair removal. Do you have pale skin and dark hairs? If so, I would highly recommend it. I had it a few years ago to get rid of PCOS chin hairs (all the glamour all of the time). It is brilliant (although expensive) and now I very rarely get any hairs at all - mainly a few very fine blond ones that didn't respond to the laser.
