Can you dress my body shape?

I've really lost my way with a sense of style recently. Have outgrown my old style (knee boots, thick tights, short casual dresses)...just totally bored of it and not convinced it suits me.

I'm tall. Size 12. Long skinny legs, narrow-ish hips but bit of an arse. Decent waist, slight tum, big boobs. A bit of a triangle shape, as shoulders slightly broad.

I'm late thirties.

mummop25 Yes, I'm a size 12 top and bottom. I'm currently a SAHM and totally stuck in a rut of slim jeans, flat knee boots, tunic tops and a big parka jacket. Feel like a complete frump and dreading the weather getting better and not being able to hide underneath big coats and scarves! I just want an easy style that makes me feel groomed and attractive and not invisible (albeit very tall!).

layla888 That look is gorgeous, but I cant wear white jeans or any tight white clothing. Too many lumps and bumps. I have a bit of a c-section overhang that is visible in tight jeans unless I wear a long top. Heels are also a problem. I dont mind a low heel or kitten heel or at a push mid-heel, but I am about 6'4 in proper heels and feel like a bloke!

The long skinny legs are annoying, but have to try to embrace them I guess. They arent toned, so I NEVER wear shorter skirts without thick tights as its just mot a good look for me. Plus they look really out of proportion with my big bum and narrow hips. I'm just a very odd shape

I havent embraced ankle boots at all yet. I know I am very behind the times! I always feel really clumpy in flat ones, as have skinny ankles and calves and size 8 feet. But I do need to find a pair I can wear with jeans. I know its a much better look than knee boots....

Do you like biker boots? I am not tall, but hopeless in heels! I live in skinnys tucked into boots because I hate that sitting down on wet hems thing! What about long v neck jumpers? Flattering up top and covers lumps and bumps.

In the summer you can wear maxi dresses with a biker jacket and pretty sandals thats always a good look! Clinch your waist in with a belt.

If you don't like heels maybe brogues or decent ballet pumps with jeans and the trench coat?

Summer is my friend, because if I can get a few maxi dresses long enough ( a trial, but usually able to find 3 or 4 per season) I'm sorted - can wear with flat sandals and its a nice look and easy to dress up or down. Spring is the tricky season for me. never know what shoes to wear?

Lovewearingjeans biker boots are bait clumpy on me (the skinny ankles/big feet look), but I wear knee length riding boots or over the knee flat boots a lot. Like the idea of long v-neck jumpers. i have a couple from Next. Where else might I find them?

Zusuki you sound very similar to me in build but taller (I'm 5'7"). I know what you mean about the biker boots with skinnies when you have size 8 feet To combat that, I go for straight leg jeans with a 'biker style' boot - so the detailing but not the clumpy size. Stops me looking like Max Wall.

When you're built like we are, it's all about keeping proportion in place and skimming the figure rather than having baggy tops or flapping bottoms. Follow the lines of your body and you won't go too far wrong. Wear clothes with a touch of lycra for comfort and fit so that you can stretch and bend easily and a hint of a tummy won't strain fastenings.

You can inject fun/edge/colour with your accessories or your hair/nail colour/make-up.
