Heavyish perfume recommendations wanted

DH and I have different taste in perfumes and am trying to find something we both like. I used to wear Allure which I love but my mother started wearing it and DH does not want me to smell like his MIL... Any ideas what to try as I'll probably get a few samples? I wear Issey Miyake in the summer but otherwise haven't found anything I like as much as Allure. Thanks.

I love Issey Miyake too. Others I wear are Ralph Lauren Romance, Clinique Happy Heart and Marc Jacobs Eau du Parfum (sometimes called Woman). The Marc Jacobs is my favourite (it can be hard to find but has a clear glass bottle and black top)

Define heavy? One person's heavy in perfume-speak could be another person's chloroform.

I love IM but I don't think it's heavy AT ALL the opposite, in fact.

My current favourite of what I consider heavy is Alien by Thierry Mugler.

Coco by Chanel is lovely as well. That's sort of spicy and warm.

Actually if you already like Allure you could do well to stick to Chanel, they just don't make a bad fragrance. No 5 has some weight to it, without being overly heavy.

If you like Allure, you'll like Dune. I find them very similar. I'm another heavy perfume fan, and like old classics rather than newer scents. I love Angel, Paloma Picasso, Ysatis, Aromatics Elixir, Rive Gauche etc.

I used to wear allure. Recommend you try Prada L'Eau Ambree. Yum!

Yip, Prada L'Eau Ambree! Gorgeous. Actually I may have to go buy some, been wearing Lady Million. Gucci Guilty Black and Black Opium are nice too.

My go to for evenings and when I want something heavy is Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir.

No Sangria, you have great taste!

Jo Malone's Blue Agave and Cacao is lovely too. It's very warm and deep and a bit spicy without being overpowering.

I love Allure too and others I've liked are Laura Mercier La Lune and Dior J'adore.

I love Issey Miyake! Also, the Dior Poison ones are all quite heavy - I used to adore Tendre Poison but they stopped making it :( I have the one in the white bottle (can't remember what it's called - it is heavy and can be a bit overpowering if you put too much on tho!)

L'Agent Provocateur L'Agent is sultry heaven if you like frankincense (which I adore)

There's also some gorgeous scents by Caron: Nuit de Noel and Narcisse Noir are fabulous.
