Pale pink nail polish

Beauty mavens of Mumsnet, I need your help.

I'm looking for a pale pink (sort of rose colour) nail polish that goes on opaque and is as matte as possible. I've tried a few (Rimmel, Essie, OPI) but they all seem to be translucent, or shimmery, or streaky, or all of the above.

Is it out there? Do I already own it and just need to improve my amateurish application? Can I get it for under six quid?

Help!

I think it's in the application - several very, very thin coats, rather than one big thick one. This will make it opaque and also avoid streaks.

Rimmel Rose Libertine. Essie also has plenty of pale pinks that are cremes rather than pearls or translucent, for example Lovie Dovie and Eternal Optimist - depending on what shade you're specifically looking for.

Ah brilliant - thanks for the suggestions. Suspected it might be my inept manicuring so will definitely give lots of thin coats a try and also look at the colours to see if one of them is a bit closer to what I'm after.

If Hard Candy are still making polish, they have this.

Rimmel salon pro new romantic is a lovely colour. It's not matte but you could use a matte top coat.

Chanel Ballerina nail polish is a very lovely pale pink. I use it all the time (when my nails are long!).

Barry m were doing a lot of matte pastel colours when I last looked - might be worth a try?

MUA at Superdrug do a matte top coat to make any polish matte Smile

Rimmel have a Kate Moss one called Soul Session that's a kind of dusty pink, almost nude but it's not translucent at all - two coats and it's thick and creamy and totally obvious if you know what I mean, I love it.

OMG ignore that video!!!! Was supposed to be a pic of the nail varnish but somehow ended up being a dodgy goth video, oops! Blush

FreiasBathtub · 01/03/2015 10:33

Wow you guys are amazing! Thank you so much. Lots for me to try here. Really like the sound of that matte topcoat. Lego - I have (and love) Soul Session - in fact am wearing it right now - but am looking for something a bit more obviously pink if you know what I mean.

I searched for this last year and tried loads. I settled for essie eternal optimist and it is as close to what i had in mind i think i can get to.
Most of them were not opaque enough for me.
