Which dress? With photos. Be nice!

I'm off out for drinks with school mums. We're going to some quite posh bars.

I have loads of full on glam va va voom dresses but very few for this kind of occasion. My usual style is retro and glam without being full on rockabilly.

Do either of these look nice? I won't be wearing the shoes in the pic. I've ordered some black shoe boots.

I had a baby fairly recently so am feeling a bit crap and like I've lost my mojo.

I ordered this dress but it arrived today and isn't as nice as I thought it would be.

Just to add, I bought the closet one after seeing it in your other thread and have worn it already. So firstly, thank you for that as I was getting desperate and that solved the problem. Secondly, it sits differently on me to how it is on you. On me the waist band seems higher and it's more fitting. Hard to describe. Guess my point is, are you sure the size is right? Do you need a smaller one perhaps.

Goes to show how the same dress can look different when on two people.

I still think it looks good on you btw. Out of the three it's my favourite but agree with pp that it's not sitting quite right.

That was so unhelpful, sorry. Blush

(And yes the material fold bit at the front is a bit annoying.)

HappyGirlNow · 28/02/2015 17:06

Ha I also ordered the Closet dress after seeing it on this thread Grin it's my favourite out the 3 but agree the waist looks too low on you OP. I'm tall so thinking it will sit higher on me - I'll find out when it arrives..

I'm back Smile

I had a bit of a moment of realisation that I was trying to dress like what I thought a school mum on a night out should look like instead of looking like me.

Consequently I've decided to a) embrace my pin-up style and b) not worry about being overdressed. I'm going to wear this Collectif dress.

And I've treated myself to these beauties as well.

Thanks for all the advice Smile

I don't think I looked like a school mum on a night out in the Closet dress Grin But I suppose I'm not a school mum and it fit me properly.

Glad you found a dress.

I like the blue leopard one - its actually very slimming - the line at the front etc. But both other dresses are very nice.

Which one makes you feel the best? That's the choice I'd make.

WagonWheel · 03/03/2015 08:07

Much prefer the leopard print one. It's just more youthful and I love it with the shoes, too. The lace one suits you without a doubt but it's kind of generic (for me, at least). However, I do wear bright yellow tights and blue patent shoes most of the time so who am I to say?! Grin

imjustahead · 03/03/2015 11:26

the leopard one looks great, i think it's far more quirky than the black one tbh.

DaffyDuck88 · 03/03/2015 13:35

Loved the blue one, but really like the black one. If thats you then go for it, it looks great

mandy214 · 03/03/2015 13:47

The leopard print one by a MILE Smile. It is lovely on you.

Think the black plus the shoes looks like fancy dress/way too try-hard. Much prefer the leopard one with shoe boots which isn't mumsy IMO.

butterfly86 · 03/03/2015 14:14

Definately the blue one :)
