Acrylic in knitwear and bobbling

Have I just been unlucky / had poor judgement this winter or does everything with acrylic in bobble to a state of unwearableness after a couple of washes?

I have an oversized cream roll neck jumper from Gap which is unwearable, a navy heattech fisherman style jumper from Uniqlo that is terrible and a wine jumper from Hush which is relegated to house wear after one wash, if it hadn't been a tenner from the sample sale I would definitely complain about that one.

I am eyeing this lovely jacket cardi thing in blue but the acrylic content worries me.

I'm not anti fake materials as a matter of principle or anything, I love polyester blouses and dresses as they don't need ironing, wash like a dream and dry in seconds.

Acrylic bobbles. But less so if it's blended with other things. You might be OK with that jacket because it looks a fairly rough texture, and it's only a small percentage acrylic.

My pet hate is cheap sweatshirts and hoodies where there is more polyester than cotton in the blend. Guaranteed to bobble from the first wash.

Anyway, don't be afraid to take things back if they bobble. Especially if the item has cost you £80!
