I'm going to a funeral next week dress code smart, i think black is expected.I have black shoes or boots but need to get a dress,I have a black smart overcoat I'm aged 30, 5ft tall about a size 10-12.
Unfortunately I have been to more funerals than I'd like and feel I may now need a funeral dress budget maybe up to £30.
OH also needs a new cheap simple suit as he doesn't fit into his old one budget maybe £60 ? (Again it's going to be a funeral suit really don't want to have to wear it very often). So any ideas please

This is the one I've been looking at its £16 at asda and would be about knee length.

The funerals I have been tothis winter have been in the cold so most women were wearing black trousers, a blouse or knit wearand coat.

I have an old pair of black Levi's that don't look like jeans that I wear with black stiletto ankle boots, long black coat.

I would say if money was a bit tight you may already have stuff in your wardrobe that is appropriate without splashing out.

The dress you pictured is appropriate though.

It doesn't have to be black. A white shirt with dark skirt or trousers is fine.

DH has a black suit from Asda for this reason, works well.

Dress looks great too.

Money is tight but also don't really want to spend money on clothes that hopefully won't need to wear very often. Me and DH both wear uniforms to work so don't have anything vaguely smart enough. Lead right yes we have been looking at asda suits, I guess they do the job then can sit in the back of the wardrobe.

Wow you can get mens suits in asda for under £40!just basic black. Do you think that will be really cheap and nasty or worth a try? Maybe we should go up and get the £50-£60 one .

For my dads funeral last month we all needed new clothes, Asda suits are ok but we found Matalan to be better quality and great prices.

Thanks I'll have a look.

That's a lovely and very appropriate dress. If you can't get exactly what you're looking for in black, don't rule out true dark navy though. It can work equally as well and my current funeral outfit is a dark navy knit dress with black tights and boots, and a woven black wool coat.
