What brands last the distance on the dancefloor?
Best long-lasting mascara, foundation, powder, eye-liner, eye shadow, etc?
I want to let my hair down without my face sliding off, iyswim!

Estée Lauder double wear foundation is excellent for staying power.

I really struggle with mascara so I normally wear false strip lashes when I go out. No smudges or mascara flakes on my face.

Can't go wrong with a nice MAC or chanel lip stick/gloss. But rimmel do nice long lasting ones too!

Blushers - chanel do some excellent pinks/corals. Budget ones I use is Rimmel and collection 2000. Also W7 from amazon is a good benefit copy!

Urban Decay All Nighter makeup setting spray is fantastic. It really works:

I second double wear and urban decay spray. Urban decay eyeshadow primer under your eye makeup is fab.

Estée. Lauder double wear camouflage in the navy tube is even better, won't move, a d a lot of dancer friends I know use Benefit Bathina highlighter cream on their arms legs and décolletage for that silky shimmer. You need literally a large pea sized amount of the EL though, it's so covering your face will look flat so you'll need some contouring.

Shonajay · 25/02/2015 06:24

Oh and some dancers swear by hairspray on their faces too, can't say I fancy that bit. False eyelashes are de rigeur also. Why am I speaking French this morning?! HTH Mon ami.

Oh, or those nude tights Beyoncé wears made out of industrial Lycra, they're really thick and shimmery but look nude on stage. You can get them in different skin colours. For lips maybe benetint by benefit, as it actually stains them, with a long lasting colour over. But something with a bit of moisture as you don't want a cats bum mouth and be stuck like that under hairspray.

Pigment eye shadows used wet are supposed to be popular too, apparantly stargazer are just as good as MAC.

Here's what I use for a budge proof face:

Primer - Shu Uemura Poreraser mousse
Foundation - Bobbi Brown Long Wear
Concealer - MAC Pro Longwear
Powder - MAC Prep & Prime
Eyeshadow - Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadows
Eyeliner - Bobbi brown gel liner or long wear pencil
Blush - Becca beach tint or Stila lip&cheek stain
Bronzer - Cargo waterproof bronzer
Lips - Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil, sometimes topped with a little gloss
Setting spray - Urban Decay all nighter

I use the Estée Lauder camouflage makeup under my double wear if I want my skin really covered. But it's so cakey on it's own. Maybelline 24hour lipstick/gloss doesn't move. And also a gel eyeliner. Loreal does a good one. Also the benefit gel one.
