I am sick sick sick of shopping there.Sometimes I'm appalled when I realise I'm dressed head to toe M and S!!! I don't really like their stuff but it's convenient, sizing is reliable and suits my budget. So I've decide no more...but where else do I go? I'm 45 years old and need reasonably smart clothes for work, but tend to live in jeans outside of work.Cant abide Next. Please help!

Loads of high street shops out there! What do you have to wear for work? Is it a suit thing?, or can you wear dresses/ smart separates? What jeans styles do you like?

Primadonnagirl · 24/02/2015 18:56

I can wear pretty much anything that's classed as business like for work. Jeans styles are limited cos of my pear shape and only 5 " 4 so tend to stick to bootleg.Im not worried about finding jeans , it's more about nice smart/ casual tops, dresses skirts and trousers that would do for both work and going out etc. I used to like Wallis but that's gone very " cruise ship" lately!! Places like Hobbs, Reiss etc are out of my budget. Thanks

Try the house of fraser website. There are so many brands on there that you'll always find something. I can't seem to find any one brand that's reliable so in end up with bits and pieces from everywhere.

uniqlo? Cos?

mewkins · 24/02/2015 19:37

Monsoon, Esprit online, John lewis weekend, H&m for some decent basics, Fat face, TK Maxx rummaging, Joules outlet, Seasalt

SlightlyJaded · 24/02/2015 19:53

Was also going to suggest COS

Primadonnagirl · 24/02/2015 20:20

Hi thanks..unfortunately I don't have a uniqlo , J Lewis or Cos where I live. I will check them out online though although rarely get clothes on line as I like to try on and struggle to get deliveries to our flat.Agree re House of Fraser but I think tends to be more expensive Mewkins thanks but all those stores are not really my preference - appreciate suggestions though. I'm going to look at Cos and I think I've heard of stores like .. And other stories and M something Dutti???? Again they'd only be online though for me.

And other stories has a £7 delivery charge that puts me off. Their clothes don't last long, lots of synthetic fabrics etc. but some good styles.

Primadonnagirl · 24/02/2015 20:47

Yeah just spotted the steep delivery charge!

Lots of companies use collect + for deliveries, you can get your items delivered to a local petrol station/pub/newsagent then collect at a convenient time. Worth a look Smile
