Want a skirt, don't know how to wear it!

I live in skinny jeans, boots & layered tops/jumpers or dresses with tights (jumper dresses, shirt dresses, sparkly ones in the evening!) and would really like to venture into skirt wearing but honestly don't know what to buy or how to wear them.

I'd like a really nice going out skirt to wear with sparkly tops or maybe a silk blouse and heels something more casual with boots & tights in the day but don't have the thighs for a mini . Any ideas? Sz 10/12 pear shape and my go-to shops are Mint Velvet, All Saints, French Connection, Warehouse & TK Maxx.

I bought this one last week It's very comfortable and just a bit different, though quite long.

That's lovely and I can imagine wearing that in the summer with a vest top & flip flops but how do you style it for this time of year?

I have this Mango skirt and it's great to dress up or down. Not too short and very versatile! And a bargain in the sale

This All Saints one is nice, and probably not v mini on a normal sized person. I have a similar one from M&S of all places, and it looks good with heeled ankle boots.

They also have a draped maxi one here, which might work well with ankle boots - I have a v similar one from Label Lab in House of Fraser, which I wear with tights and boots in Spring and Autumn and with bare legs and sandals in summer. Speaking of Label Lab I might have to go and investigate that one myself!

Denim skirt is a good call hadn't thought of that during winter (wasn't sure if they'd gone completely out of fashion as mind is a good 10yrs old ) .

I've never stopped wearing denim skirts tbh (still stuck in the 80s!) but apparently they are 'in' again.
