What colour accessories with this dress?

I'm getting married this summer, and my Mum's found a pale pink, lacy dress that she quite likes. It's all-over lace, knee-length with 3/4 length sleeves and a sweetheart neckline.

She'd like to wear a big MOB hat, clutch handbag and heels. But what colour? Obviously we'd avoid red. We were thinking navy blue, but that may be a little dark for an August wedding? Maybe cream would be better? Bridesmaids will be in aqua blue.

Any thoughts gratefully received!

Navy would certainly work. Or What about a subtle metallic - muted silver or silvery pewter.

I personally wouldn't necessarily want matched bag and shoes, so might look at navy hat and shoes - which can be very light and strappy in August, so not too dark and heavy - and a silvery bag.

Shoes could also be patent or suede - both 'lighter' than solid matte navy
