Rolling Down, low hanging crotch - sick of it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good thicker tights to wear everyday.

Also any tips of not laddering thinner tights when pulling them on. Its costing me a fortune!

I'm 14-16, quite a large arse ...

Wolford. Cost £20-30 but last forever, wash really well and don't go baggy or sag at knees/crotch. I have about five pairs which I've had for two years and get regular wear in winter. Still like new.

Try a large range of tights in different sizes and stick with what you know works for fit. You DONT have to spend a fortune on expensive tights. I chanced upon Sainsbury a few tears ago in a size different to that which I normally buy and have never looked back.

Ladders? Manicured toenails and finger nails, or gloves for the latter make a difference.

My tights do this when they're too small. I've lost some weight and now some that used to do it, don't. I didn't have the choice to go up a size at the time because I was already in an XL, but you could get the next size up and it should solve the problem.

A second pair of knickers on top of your tights. It was a Mumsnet revelation to me!

One pair was very comfy from M&S but I laddered them. I might go back to try another pair.

I don't think they are too small as they are going baggy in the legs and wrinkly.

American Apparel super opaque. Brilliant. Pricey at circa £20 but they won't ladder.

EBAY 100 denier from China, £3 a pair, all colours fit like a dream over my fat belly and last forever.

For properly thick tights try White Stuff, pricier than I'd normally go for but really comfy.

Some are saying cheap, some saying expensive. It's obviously like leggings and jeggings. You have to try loads on to find the ones that fit you the best. Thanks everyone.

I can't wear tights since having dc. It's probably something to do with two emcs/diastasis recti but they are so uncomfortable. I'm okay for about an hour but then they make my abdomen ache. Doesn't matter what size btw. It's the snugness of them.

I find the H&M tights pretty good. At the moment i am wearing the 'secret support' ones which mean there's an extra panel across your tummy and down to about where one might imagine suspenders would go. I usually get as high denier as poss (100 or 80). When I was there last the secret support ones didn't come in 100d, only 80, but these are fine. I bought 3 pairs and every single pair still going strong after 3 months, I wear three pairs a week for work. About £4.99 for one pack, so a smidge more than i wanted to pay really but they have lasted very well - not even any clicks.

I love the primark shape me tights, I get 40 denier and they're £2.50 per pair.

Seconding the Wolford suggestion. The Matt 80 denier are perfect and yes size up this stops the rolling down and baggy knees imo.

I wear M&S 40 and 60 denier black opaques (bodysensor). I'm an 18-20 and wear the XL although I do find them a bit too long so if I'm wearing shoes (as opposed to boots) I have to hoik them up now and then. I don't get 'roll down' though.

Any of the support or body shaping tights are best for staying up as they are tighter around the top of the thighs. I love M&S black opaques, their body shaper ones come in different thicknesses from 100 to 30 denier.

I'm sure you've thought of this op, but when you've got them on and pulled them up, do you give them another good pull up, starting at the ankles and moving up the legs? Then all the "spare" will end up at the top where you need it. Sorry i know that's probably really obvious!

Have you tried the trick where you buy a size too big. I do that, Im a medium but always buy tights in a large, I find that way they dont roll down and theres give in them

I'm five foot eight, and although smaller dress sized than you, I always go for extra large tights. I've never had a pair go saggy or baggy , unless they are done and past their best. The reason I go for extra large is it stops all the rolling down, crotch at your knees issue. The brand is often irrelevant, cheap or expensive, just make sure they are big enough.

Knickers on top! Done it for years and it's kept all mine up!

Tesco luxury, think they are 140 denier - no sign of leg colour comes through!

Still gutted they no longer do the teal (or burgundy, brown, grey!)

I also wear thermal tights in winter - they eventually bobble but last a season or two

Falke 100den, they come in at least 5 sizes so much better fit. Try TK Maxx as they sometimes have them in.

Or the Amazon seller paradise4women has similar.
