Dress for a ball - Light in the Box?

I am going to a ball with DH later this year and have been looking at dresses.

Has anyone used Light in the Box? They have a huge range and are cheap but are in China so I'm wary.

I'm looking elsewhere too but don't want to spend too much (150 max really, ideally closer to 100) and don't want wear something boring or that everyone else will be wearing. I don't want anything outrageous, just not exactly the same dress as twelve other people.

I'm short (5 foot 4) and size 6 and am quite pale, with brown hair so any recommendations welcome!

There are some gorgeous 'different' dresses at virgos lounge at that price, a friend had one and it was stunning. Take a look?

Oh thanks, I will have a look!

A friend of mine bought something from Light in the Box and it arrived crawling with insects, all sealed up inside the box.

I ordered a petticoat (big tulle 1950s style) from them a few years ago. They ship from somewhere in China. It looked fine but was too scratchy to wear.

Insects?! That's grim.

That's a shame about your petticoat Frugal.
