Mac Makeup?

I went to the counter today and had my eyeshadow done as I was looking for new shades. I was very impressed as the girl was the manager and wasn't pushy for me to buy. I got samples of a pink radience, face & body & studio fix foundation. The shades looked a good match. Are there any of their other products that are really good?

The clear eyebrow gel is a must for me. And their lipsticks are pretty nice, too. I have quite a few of their 4x4 eyeshadow palettes that I've put together myself. It's nice to have them all together in one place for different looks: neutrals, brights, etc.

They are normally very good and not pushy.

The lipsticks are all lovely I think and worth the money I have quite a few. Ruby Woo is a lovely pink-red. The cream blush is also really nice - I haven't tried the powder one.

Their products are generally good - except for the foundation which oxidises on the skin, and looks awful on most people I've seen wearing it.

I love MAC makeup. I use all MAC products for my makeup base, and then stuff like mascara, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and lippy are all cheapy products. I find as long as I have a good base, I am OK.

I use the MAC Face and Body Foundation, which I mix in with the MAC Strobe Cream as my base. It gives a lovely dewy look.

For dark circles under eyes and slightly red nose, I use MAC Select Cover Up.

For the shiny T Zone I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder, and then use a dusting of MAC Bronzing Powder and MAC Powder Blush.

Not a foundation fan, but I love the lipsticks and eyeshadow. I like strobe cream and the mineralise skin finish powders as well.

i dont like their foundation. Its not awful but its not worth the money.

I bloody love their lipsticks though

I'm not a big make-up person, but I tend to go to Mac every 5 years or so and ask for a new look (with a bit of guidance: skin tone, natural, daytime etc). I don't really know the name of most of their stuff that I use, but I like their base (in a black pump tube), loose powder, Vex eyeshadow, Plumful lipstick. I have a beautiful blusher shade, but unfortunately, it doesn't have great staying power. I like their happiness to let you try their stuff without the hard sell. Confidence in their product, presumably.

Another person who had a bad experience with MAC foundation. I was bought a bottle of Studio fix foundation on their recommendation. Far too think for me, bought me up in spots and smells foul ( had a cold on the day it was tested on me). Back to Bobbi Brown for me then.
Love their lippies and eyeshadows though.

Thanks everyone I have 2 foundation samples so I'll see his I go. I liked the blackberry eyeshadow for the socket line.

I love love love their foundation. It's the best I've ever had. I'm very pale with a yellow undertone so it's hard for me to find something that doesn't make me look orange.

I agree ^^. I love it, I have the pro longwear & it's brilliant. It lasts for ages & makes my skin look flawless.

same as the previous 2 posters, I love the foundation. I wear NC15 in Studio Fix, love the (pale) colour and coverage and I actually love the smell (does smell alcoholy rather than perfumey so I get it may not be everyone's cup of tea)

Overrated brand in my opinion. Great lipsticks, awful foundations if you're in any way pale.

Generally crappy staff.

Pro longwear is the most amazing foundation I've ever found...amazing coverage, would last through a marathon and is so fresh and dewy...people have often admired my skin since I started using it, can't rate it highly enough

I used to love Mac studio fix and wore nothing else but that. When I fell pregnant my skin changed and the studio fix would oxidise on my skin and look really orange. I still can't use it now. I love the other products they do, but I do think there are better brands out there for foundation.
