I love how it shows fashions in everything changing - hair and make up. Charlize Theron looks VERY orange...

Still think Julia Roberts dress was amazing. And her hair. I always loved her hair.

Julia Roberts Valentino has stood the test of time hasn't it.

Olivia de Havilland's 1950s dress is gorgeous, and Vivien Leigh in 1940. Though I may be biased there, having come to the conclusion that Vivien Leigh was the most incredible looking woman ever.

I like grace Kelly's by edith head.

I wasn't sure about Natalie Portman's colour at the time, but oh wow, doesn't she look like an advert for pregnancy! Glowing, beautiful.

I looked like that all the way through, natch.

Audrey Hepburn looks terrifying in her picture!

Luise Rainer (who I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of ) looks amazing. Her dress would work as well today it did in 1938.

Sally Field looks like she's going to a tennis club barbecue.

Some odd ones really needed to make more effort!

Yes squoosh, that dress somehow doesn't date. It's gorgeous. Wish I could see what colour it was.

I remember Julia's dress at the time. She looked fabulous.

I can also remember Sandra Bullocks, she's looked spectacular. And then right after her DH was revealed as SuperTwat. I felt so sad for her that her moment was stolen.

Charlize Theron does look really orange, jaundiced even. I suppose fake tan was in in a big way then.

It's more like someone sprayed her with glitter. It's very odd.

With no big surprise, it's Cate Blanchett's dress that stands out as the nicest - but's that just liking what's fashionable now!

Elizabeth Taylor dress was beautiful, as was she.

I think Julia's dress proves that simple black dresses never date. The best thing I can say about Gwyneth's is that it doesn't look any worse now than it did then.

(I seem to remember she wore an equally bad gothic number the following year)

Like Simone Signoret's dress - that's aged quite well

I think Sandra Bullock's dress is beautiful - I remember liking it at the time. Cate Blanchett lovely too, really don't like Jennifer Lawrence's dress though!

I also like Reese Witherspoon - possibly because although it's pretty it's not trying desperately hard to be sexy like so many of the recent ones.
