I had great recommendations on here for skinnies, ended up with Eden jeggings from Dorothy Perkins which are great. I wear them all the time with boots in winter.

However, I need straight rather than skinny jeans to wear with trainers/converse . I like the comfort and good fit of jeggings, but they don't look right on me with trainers (as I am a size 16). So I'm looking for high-waisted straight jeans, to suit an apple shape - relatively narrow hips/fat tummy, slimmish thighs. Most jeans are too baggy around the hips and thigh if they fit properly around the waist - hence my love of jeggings.
Has anyone seen jeggings with a straight leg? Do they even exist?
Or do you know of wide waist/narrow hip & thigh fit jeans?
Please help -am going on European city break at Easter and will be walking a lot - can't do it in boots! ( Unless you have comfy supportive boot tips....)

Hi

Next Lift Slim & Shape jeans would seem to tick all the boxes - high waisted and available in slim/straight leg as well as skinny. I am an apple shape and they fit me really well. I have about 4 pairs as I can't find any others which suit.

DelphiniumBlue · 19/02/2015 22:56

Thanks, Angelica.
I have tried these, and quite like them but they have tended to bag a little. Also found they fluctuate in size - for some reason the bootcut option fitted better in a 14 than a 16, whereas couldn't get the zip up on 14 straight leg. Will give them another go - haven't tried them this year!

Also try M & S Lana fit jeans. Lana fit is for Apple shape and I can wear them like jeggings. Just pull them on and off. I got black straight leg and indigo boot cut.

I'm also a 16 and find jeggings great in winter with boots but in summer I turn them up in a cuff with pumps or laced canvas.

Levi jeans. They are light years ahead of where they used to be and they aren't expensive.

GingerbreadBaubles · 20/02/2015 05:24

Size 14 Apple, my Levi curve jeans arrive today. I went for straight cut, will report back later!

DelphiniumBlue · 20/02/2015 11:32

Thanks for suggestions - awaiting Levi Curve reprot from Gingerbread with interest!

Levi update...they're going back. Got a 31 and a 30, 30 fit just but didn't look good, 31 was in the darker indigo and too small.

Didn't like the fit at all. I don't have massive thighs but I looked like a sausage perhaps the bootcut would be better for me after all.

Good point to note though they sat nicely no gap at the back no muffin top.

DelphiniumBlue · 20/02/2015 18:20

Thanks for the update, Gingerbread, sorry they were no good!
Think I will find a Levi stockist and try a few different styles on.
Anyone got any other suggestions?

Aha, just seen there is a Levi shop in Brent Cross!

I recently got two pairs of Levis - the 535 legging in dark indigo (size 30 waist) and Levis 518 straight leg in pale blue (also size 30).

They are wildly different in size and cut but both are very soft and comfy. The straight leg 518 is baggy in the thighs and more like a "boyfriend" cut for me and I have to wear a belt but the leggings are great and fit perfectly and aren't too leggingish if that makes sense.

I usually go for a boot cut (not wide boot) because I do think its the most leg flattering in terms of making them look longer and slimmer.

I've just bought the slim/straight jeans from Gap. I'm a large size 12 apple and the 30 inch waist fit well. High waist, not tight on my giant calves.

DelphiniumBlue · 22/02/2015 18:52

Haven't tried GAP jeans for years, will have a look. Thanks.

You sound like a similiar shape to me. I have the Levi bold rebel jeans. They are meant to be for an hourglass figure curvy figure but for some reason they help hide my tummy really well and they do not sit too low. I am an apple shape, with quite slim legs.
I also didn't like the fit of the Demi curve jeans.
The skinny ones are more like slim fitting jeans and are not drain pipe skinny.

Iwantahandbag · 22/02/2015 22:01

I mean the 'revel' Demi curve sinny jeans!

prettywhiteguitar · 23/02/2015 08:27

I second Levi's, they last, don't sag and really, really worth the money. I always look okay in them ! Even on a bad day Wink

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 23/02/2015 08:31

If the jeans thing doesn't work buy a pair of Dr Martens for your trip, but wear them in before you go (they come in great colours/patterns)

DelphiniumBlue · 23/02/2015 22:33

WindMeUp, are DMs fairly supportive? And do they come in wide fit? I've had a hankering for a pair ( is patent passe these days?)for a while, but never actually tried them on.
Meanwhile, lots of votes for Levis here, will get down to the shop at the weekend!

I wear mine a lot (have 2 pairs, 2 different colours) and do a lot of walking in them including woods and fields. I think they should be fine for wide fitting thought best try some. They are stiff until you've worn them in a bit though (and the patent ones are on my wish list!)

DelphiniumBlue · 23/02/2015 23:00

Thanks,WindMeUp. What with Levis and DMs on my wishlist, had better get saving!

Toast
I have adored these from afar for a few years. Got some in post-Christmas sale. Love them, really nice weight denim too. Would replace them at full price. I'm a curvy 14.

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 23/02/2015 23:05

Schuh have black glitter DMs - probably not practical but also on my wish list. If you do buy some DMs, thick socks and plasters for the first few times you wear them, prevention a better than cure. Enjoy your beak away
