Help find me an outfit

For the first time in years I am off out with a group of friends to go drinking and dancing.

I need a complete outfit (possibly including shoes) as I have nothing suitable that I can fit in post kids.

It doesn't have to be a dress but I'm looking for something different to my usual jeans & plain top but I want to feel comfortable while dancing away in my own unique way! Grin

I'm late 30's, 5'4 with short brown hair. I'm roughly a 12 on the bottom and 14 on top. I normally shop in White Stuff, Fat Face or H&M. I have about £100 to spend.

I like wearing black, blue & greens mainly but open to suggestions.

Thanks

this?
With black heels?
Whatever you choose to wear I hope you have a great time.

Try a black jumpsuit. Loads of styles out there that would come well under budget, so you can buy shoes too! I got a lovely one from Oasis just after Christmas. I am similar size/ height.

I just bought this dress for a night out. I'm going to wear it with black heeled ankle boots and a big sparkly necklace. I've never bought anything from Cos before and was convinced the dress would be too tight on my (much hated) thighs, but it fits beautifully and really emphasises my waist. The fabric is also quite heavy so it doesn't cling.

Ooh thanks for the advice.

I was looking at this (fingers crossed pic has attached - first time I've tried!!).

Do you think this might be ok? I have black heels and red peep toe shoes (or should I look for more shoes? Grin)

I like the jump suit but can you get it off to go to the loo?

ChipsRedWhite · 20/02/2015 14:00

I know!! That's one of the things putting me off!!

But I like that I don't have to find a separate top and it feels a bit different to things I normally wear - while still being something that covers me up well!

Love that Cos dress, Amax. Can I ask how tall you are and how long it is? Most of their stuff is way too long for me.

ChipsRedWhite · 20/02/2015 17:13

Argh! Just realised I'm also off to a 40th night next week so panic has set in!!

I have ordered the jumpsuit in a 14 and 16 and will see how I feel in it when they arrive.

Think I'm still going to be looking online tonight just in case!

I'm afraid this one might have similar issues then, Remus. I'm 5'9" and the large comes to just at/below my knee. Useful for hiding my much hated knees, but possibly not ideal if you aren't an Amazonian behemoth, as I am.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/02/2015 17:23

Thanks, Amax. No good at all for little me then!

ChipsRedWhite · 21/02/2015 19:10

Jumpsuits arrived today. Was a bit unsure of the material (heavy & shiny) but thought it might look ok on.

Sadly it just didn't! Grin I can't blame the material though - it wasn't helped by my long body/short leg and bit of a tummy figure!!

So back to the online search tonight. If there are any other ideas do post them!

Biba has some lovely dresses at the moment fake shirt I think the fake strapless would be good if you are a little top heavy figure-wise.
floral
parrots
All would look good with black opaques and black heels.

ChipsRedWhite · 22/02/2015 08:29

Right, it's a bit boring but how do black flares/palazzo trousers, a black cami top and either a patterned kimono style jacket or a shrug over the top sound?
