Biker jacket

I'm thinking of investing in a leather biker jacket and have tried on a couple in whistles, jigsaw and reiss. As it's still pretty cold I've always had at least 3 layers on. I take it you ideally want them pretty fitted? And do they stretch much? Also would you stick with classic black? I've tried on a navy variation which was also lovely but is that likely to date? Sorry lots of q's!

Watching this with interest as am also considering. Just missed out on one on Brand Alley - a warehouse real leather one reduced to £70.

Also considered a navy one from Asos as black can look quite harsh on me.

I'm also wondering whether they are still "in".

I'm after one of these too, I've been looking at the oasis ones but not managed to get to a shop to try one on yet. I would want a fitted one too, I'm too large of hip and arse to get away with the boxy look!

Mines are fitted and no, I don't find they stretch too much. I have a black and a grey. Whilst I love the grey I hardly ever wear it as I find the black goes with much more so I reckon black would be more versatile.

Mine is fitted, yes. I never wear black as it makes me look like death warmed up so I've gone for navy, although it's actually so dark as to be nearly black anyway. Hasn't stretched.

Mine are fitted and haven't stretched. I don't care if they are, 'In' or not - I like them and they are a classic, so I'll be carrying on wearing them.

I've got a grey one and a chocolate one. I'd like a black one but find they make me look a bit, 'Aged Goth' so am still looking for the right one. I'd rather have black than navy though.

I have a brown one that I hardly wear - it's quite fitted and I can only wear a thin jumper underneath. Doesn't seem to get much wear as most of the time it's too cold for thin jumper and jacket and if I'm just going somewhere indoors, I take it off as soon as I go inside.

I bought a navy one in the Next sale. Lovely leather and a huge bargain.

Saw a lady with one on over a chunky polo neck jumper with skinny jeans the other day. She looked very cool and trendy.

I have this Hobbs biker which is very dark green, almost a dark grey. I also have a very dark plum biker and a waxed cotton black biker. None of them have stretched much and they are all fitted. As you can probably tell, I love biker jackets!

My waxed one is v similar to this and the purple one is Clements Ribeiro from TK Maxx.

Muubaa and all saints have that distressed lived in look I quite like in biker jackets. I agree black goes with everything

I'm saving up for a Rick Owens biker jacket as like remus I think I'll still wear them for years to come whether they're in or not
They don't stretch much so make sure they are not too tight around the shoulders or arms! And Size up if you want to wear them with thick jumpers etc

Oh and don't worry too much if you can't zip it up I think it's more important to be well fitted around the arms and shoulders as most people don't seem to zip them

I love mine (grey suede charity shop bargain, bought just as they were starting to get fashionable - I bet someone was kicking themselves [grin ), but I really only wear it in Spring and Autumn (although I dug it out today as it is so sunny here).

That's mainly because it isn't particularly cosy and you can't fit many layers under it. In the depths of winter I need something much more substantial coat wise.

Gosh yes - never zip them up.

The burgundy Oasis jacket is the same colour as my TK Maxx one and it goes with loads of different colours. I never zip mine up either.

Muubaa have some VERY reasonably priced ones for sale via Brand Alley. I am very tempted - I sit between an 8 and a 10 though so sizing when ordering online is always an issue for me.
