In need of a new mascara but want to try something new. Whats good in the £10/11 or less bracket? I need volume but still like a natural look for every day.

I still don't think you can beat Maybelline (pink one with green lid - Big Lash?).

About £5

Optimist1 · 16/02/2015 20:13

I was recommended Soap & Glory Thick and Fast mascara, and have just bought my second - very good indeed, and in your price range.

clr2014 · 16/02/2015 20:20

I really really like Bourjois Volume Glamour. About a tenner i think though i usually buy on 3 for 2.

sheffieldsteeler · 16/02/2015 20:27

MaxFactor False Lash Effect - if you like a big old-fashioned brush and plenty of oomph, it's a real bargain.

FairyBiker · 16/02/2015 20:34

Superdrug B. range mascaras are fantastic. often on offer for £5

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 16/02/2015 20:35

Max Factor Calorie 2000 - I've tried premium brands too, but still prefer this.

ihatethecold · 16/02/2015 20:36

Soap and glory thick and fast is ace.

GingerLemonTea · 16/02/2015 20:36

This is surprisingly good.

I always like loreal ones. Black lash affect?

MeganChips · 16/02/2015 23:01

Loreal telescopic, I have tried every mascara on the market and always come back to it.

It's excellent if you like long length and definition, not so great at volume.

ThinkingOutLouder · 17/02/2015 11:15

Have tried a few but always go back to L'Oreal volume million lashes. Usually priced around £10.99.

teacher1984 · 17/02/2015 21:55

^ have been using Loreal Million Lashes. Maybe I should just stick with it! Think I had a dud tube most recently though which has put me off. Not as good as past tubes. I wondered if they'd changed the formulation?

I currently love Rimmel Rockin Curves mascara.
Was a bit mmm... about the brush shape at first but it is excellent at distributing the mascara and for getting a really good build up for volumising lashes.
I got a Loreal Volume Million mascara at Xmas and have just replaced it by going back to Rimnel.
I rate budget mascaras more than premium, have tried YSL, Lancôme etc and just can't seem to get the volume I'm after.

teawamutu · 18/02/2015 19:33

I just bought a Million Lashes and not getting on with it at all - finding it gives very little in the way of oomph, but tons of mascara all over my lids! Is it my technique?

ihatethecold · 18/02/2015 19:44

You all need to try Soap and Glory's mascara Thick and Fast.
It's does all you need and costs less than a tenner.

hollyisalovelyname · 18/02/2015 19:45

Aldi do one, cheap as chips, it's white on one end to add volume and black that you layer on.

chelsbells · 18/02/2015 19:47

Another vote for Soap and Glory thick and fast - DH bought me a Loreal one for Christmas, twice the price of S&G and I can't stand it! S&G does exactly as it says! Love it and it doesn't seem to run out as quickly as others!

Branleuse · 18/02/2015 19:51

max factor 2000 calorie.

Doesnt smudge. Gives great volume. Easily as good as mascaras twice the price.

Branleuse · 18/02/2015 19:52

soap and glory one gave me panda eyes - admittedly not as badly as some mascaras, but still did it.

pinkfrocks · 18/02/2015 21:12

Maybelline The Falsies beats the Big Lash imo.

Goldiefawn · 18/02/2015 23:07

Maybelline lash sensational is my go to atm

NanTheWiser · 19/02/2015 11:34

I am another fan of Maybelline Lash Sensational - and being well into my 60's, I've tried MANY mascaras - this one is the bizz!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 19/02/2015 11:46

I like max factor false lashes waterproof great for length, definition and holding a curl but not volume (but I'm not a fan of the thick lashed look, it looks like clumpy spider lashes on me). I like the plastic brush. It works better on my lashes than trad bristly brushes.

I have never found a maybelline mascara I like - I find them clumpy and flaky
