Herbs, well done ds. Glad all's well on the light sabre front too phew.

bigTillyMint · 10/03/2015 19:35

Well done mini-Herbs.

Rose, sorry to hear that - fingers crossed her teacher has some ideas to support her.

Cremo, the ice-cream sounds very virtuous. And green!

Blackduck · 10/03/2015 20:44

Herbs Brian is actually Walter (and is indeed the Walter I used to wash the baby ds in...)

Righto; Dropbox has me discombobulated so for those intereste
Trousers of Truth Pistachio Froyo

Ingredients

500g tub of Total 0% Greek Yogurt
1 large ripe banana
1 small nugget frozen spinach (15g)
1/2 an avocado - just ripe, scooped out esp. the bit next to the skin for extra greenness.
2 tablespoons honey or same of low calorie sweetener granules like stevia, or apple sauce. ( I used homemade, made with sweet eating apples and no sugar)
1/2 teaspoon almond or pistachio extract.
2 tablespoons chopped pistachios plus a few more for on top.
Some people might like salted pistachios on top for that sweet-salty flavour.
Method
In a blender or food processor, blend together yogurt, banana, spinach, avocado, stevia, almond extract, and pistachios.
You may need to pulse, then whizz a few times for extra smoothness.
Once well blended, pour mixture into a loaf tin and sprinkle with chopped pistachios (if you have an ice cream maker you can pour this mixture into your machine and finish according to manufacturers instructions)
Freeze for 2-3 hours until firm enough to scoop.

Rudy, wow that's a lot to take in! Get ye to the Wine
Yes pain is a pain. I realised, mid traction today that I haven't truly relaxed for just over a year.Shock

Stropperella · 10/03/2015 22:59

So I go off to my course, ring home at 8am to make sure everyone is up chickens are out etc and dd apparently doesn't make it out of bed or to school all day and dh and dd are now whinging about each other to me. aibu to get very pissed off with the pair of them? ffs

cremolafoam · 10/03/2015 23:51

Yes Stropps you are entitled. YANBUShock

lalsy · 11/03/2015 00:07

YANBU Stropps. That's ridiculous.

Mmmm, lovely. I will add to the next update Crem.

(No-one needs to do or know anything about dropbox by the way - you just get a link to click on if you PM me (it happens to be a dropbox one because that is where I store shareable files). And PM me any new recipes and I will add them. Sorry if I've not been clear)

Watching House of Cards season three. She gives me the heebie jeebies, not sure I can carry on.

hattymattie · 11/03/2015 05:57

Lalsy - If that's the wife - yes it's worth it for her handbags ( disclaimer - I've only watched season 1).

Blackduck · 11/03/2015 06:01

Stropps I would tell them all to shut up and get on with it!
Lalsy we are a good way into season 3 of HoC - they are despicable!

Herbs - :) for Ds. - long may it continue!

Here dp is dragging himself to Friday when he can stop and my cold appears to have re-emerged. :(. Maybe I need lots of vit C?

Rudy - work changes for the better?

Rosebag · 11/03/2015 07:18

YANBU Stropps I would be having a monumental tantrum in your position.(not that it ever helps…) Angry
cremo that looks quite delicious!
Rudy It never rains….Hope it's all for the better. What have you been called in to school about? I haven't slept well because of it…I've fired off an email to the TA who hovers around DD rarely saying very politely wtf is going on...

Here, I have a doctor's appt this morning to talk about my still painful ankles and hip. I am dreading being told I have arthritis or rheumatism or another similar old lady condition…but it can't go on. I have realised that stoically and with a smile on my face mostly I have chronic pain.

Have good day Crepeys

hattymattie · 11/03/2015 07:34

BD - you both need a break in the sun.

Stropps - sounds like a nightmare.

Rose - I have sore knees - I'm dreading it extending anywhere else.

herbaceous · 11/03/2015 08:01

Stropps - I would be utterly livid in your position, and crushing many bins. FFS. Is your DP not an adult?

I too have collapsing feet, and consequent painful hip, and while orthotics and briskness are holding it all at bay for a while, I feel there will soon be a total collapse necessitating a mobility scooter.

BD - sorry you're so lurgified. But I believe that vitamin C has been proven to have no effect on colds and all that. Other than placebo...

motherinferior · 11/03/2015 08:11

I have been at my desk for half an hour, effectively in pyjamas, and don't plan to move for Quite Some Time. I have 101 deadlines and am getting DD1's lurgy. Do not let me waste the day on here.

Stropps, this is NO BLOODY JOKE. Yep, massive blowup time.

BD, she's right about the vit C. Although I continue to believe that limoncello contains it in a concentrated form and is therefore to be administered at regular intervals. There's a picture of a lemon on the bottle and all.

Right, off to write about - among other things - dogs, second-hand cots, and inherited eye conditions.

motherinferior · 11/03/2015 08:17

Though before I go can I just say

hahahahahahahaha

bigTillyMint · 11/03/2015 08:19

I'm another one with dodgy knees.

Stropps, I am Angry on your behalf. But it is THEIR problem, not yours - let them get on with the consequences.

bigTillyMint · 11/03/2015 08:20

Yes, MI!

lalsy · 11/03/2015 08:43

Dodgy knees here too - and from before i was crepey. But - and dear crepeys I know you will share my horror at this - buying lots of new shoes has really helped. I over-pronate so wearing unevenly worn down shoes was causing pain in my hips and ankles.

HofC - they are despicable and it is brilliantly done. I just find Claire terrifying. Maybe a spoof will help, thanks Auriga.

NUFC69 · 11/03/2015 08:54

Herbs, your DS is an absolute star and deserves his light sabre.

Stropps, a major strop is called for, I think. This is so feeble of them.

MI, I bought a second hand cot when DGS1 was born (we had actually kept ours in the loft for umpteen years, but when we came to put it together we had lost the fixings). Needless to say we bought a new mattress for the cot - I think the cot itself cost £14 and DD got it off eBay - it's really good quality.

Both of my knees are playing up today so sympathies to other Crepeys with similar problems. I hope you get on ok with the GP, Rose. You will probably be told keep on taking the paracetamol, supplemented by ibuprofen for bad days (voice of bitter experience ).

Glorious sunshine here, although there was a thick frost first thing. Our red squirrel paid a visit yesterday and the hazelnuts I had put out have gone - not sure, of course, whether it was him or something else which took them.

beachyhead · 11/03/2015 09:57

Probably Dylan who took your nuts, NU Grin

Blackduck · 11/03/2015 09:58

Oh Lemoncello..... I shall take note, after all MI you are a health writer and all that ;)

hattymattie · 11/03/2015 10:29

Is a lovely thread in Chat on Clarkson and the use of the overly genteel word"fracas".Smile

MI - I had a friend who swore her children never got colds because they took Vitamin C tablets all winter. There was no telling her otherwise and she clearly thought I was very stupid not following suit.

Stropperella · 11/03/2015 11:04

Sorry to post and run last night. I was so Angry. NU, you hit the nail on the head: "feeble" is exactly right. I ripped a strip off both of them and was particularly narked because the "not going to school" bit did not come to light until about 10.45pm last night. The pair of them were being completely shifty about it. Also, dd rang me at about 6pm when I was stuck in traffic last night, whinging about being locked out, as she had taken the dog for a walk and not bothered to ask whether dh was going out (he had to collect ds from Youth Theatre) and he hadn't bothered to communicate with her at all either. Seriously, wtf??
So sorry to hear about all the poorly crepeys. D&V is miserable, but I'd always rather have a good honk and get it out of the way ASAP. What is your dp like, BD? And as for white fish poached in milk for poorly stomachs - ugh. That would just make me throw up all over again. Definitely in the (very) dry toast and boiled water camp here. Possibly a dry cream cracker if I'm really pushing the boat out. Also find an ice lolly is good once the puking stage is def over.
Auriga, you really have had more than your fair share of nasty germs lately. Are you overdoing it at work, hmm?? How did the conference go?
Crem, fingers crossed for eventual pain-freeness after the 20th.
Want to write more, but under a bit of time pressure here. Laters!
