Well someone had to do it as my last post was number 999...

OP posts:
Stropperella · 21/02/2015 20:27

Rudy, I would also be concerned, for the reason as Beachy. Although at least she has told you about him and it's all out in the open.

Rudy, both of the DDs said, no way would you describe someone you had only "met" online as BF/GF. And it would be "seriously weird" if you did.

Stropperella · 21/02/2015 21:29

Oof, tricky, Rudy. How old is he?

MollyAir · 21/02/2015 22:20

I'm up for Carole King, BP, Hans Litten and just about anything else. Waterloo Sunset is supposed to be v good.

beachyhead · 22/02/2015 07:55

Been up all night with Dylan. He's not looking good. Admission to vets this morning. Feeling dreadful Hmm

NUFC69 · 22/02/2015 08:04

Oh dear, Beachy, I hope he is all right. Good luck with the vet.

I would be very anxious about the on line BF, Rudy, don't know what to suggest but I think something needs doing. Wine

Beachy, fingers crossed for you and Dylan. Has he eaten something he shouldn't? Or maybe the bush incident? (it was him, wasn't it?)

Rudy, I'm afraid mine would go with seriously weird option, but then they think that I am seriously weird for having hairy-handed crepey online friends! I think that the FaceTime is a good thing though, and the fact that your DS's have spoken to him. Could she invite him over so you can vet him close-up?!

So Molly and Monty - Lalsy, Addle, anyone else? BP - how would a Sunday be? I think I am a footy widow free mostly all Sundays!

Blackduck · 22/02/2015 09:12

oh Beachy hope Dylan's okay - here the only outcome of the lemon drizzle appears to have been endless loo breaks......
Dratted dogs!

Rudy it does seem a touch odd. But then the whole on line dating thing makes me Hmm

MI glad you made it back (finally) and sorry it was so grim.

Auriga · 22/02/2015 09:16

Just seen this, hope Dylan ok Beachy.

We took DD & friend to Arcadia last night - wonderful. But DH has bad cold this morning, staying in bed.

Been reading The Song of Achilles which I found a in a charity shop. Highly recommended.

Breakfast tip, everyone: stewed rhubarb doesn't go with porridge. I tried it so you don't have to Grin

Auriga · 22/02/2015 09:18

And yes, MI, welcome back & sorry you had a gruelling time. Feeding is a big issue with my DM. I've decided to try feeding her all the things her mother used to give her (hence the stewed rhubarb) since that seems to float her boat pretty reliably.

Blackduck · 22/02/2015 09:19

Oh Auriga Arcadia is one of my birthday dates! Hope it's good :)

NUFC69 · 22/02/2015 09:31

I think an invitation wouldn't go amiss, too, Rudy. At the very least it shows that you are caring parents, worst case scenario he withdraws which is suspicious in itself. Good luck with it, though.

Auriga, I meant to say we're big fans of Death in Paradise, too. We came to it late (second series) but managed to see the other on a different channel.

MI, are you having a restful day after your stress of yesterday?

Rose, DH has asked me to ask you what you know about Vancouver? He is heavily involved in arranging a western Canadian tour for us atm.

Bitterly cold here, but DH has decided to go out on his bike (first time since his falls) so I am having a quiet morning.

He's been admitted. Interesting fact: seven years of vet training do not teach you what a Brazil nut is Smile

We will hear later, but she didn't look as worried as we are....

Sorry you had a trying day yesterday, MI, and good luck with your Dmum, Mrs S.

Rudy, does she actually want to meet him in RL? Only I'm surprised she hasn't tried to see him yet. Maybe it's more fun as a virtual relationship. I think I would extend the invitation as well, so you can check him out.... She might not like him in real life.

NUFC69 · 22/02/2015 10:35

I find it difficult to believe that the vet didn't know what a Brazil nut is, but hey ho nothing in this life surprises me any more. Glad to hear that they are making encouraging noises, Beachy.

motherinferior · 22/02/2015 10:40

Yep, hope lovely Dylan's incorrigible spirit prevailsGrin.

My kids think I am insane for meeting women I met onlineGrin.

I am planning a strenuous day of bugger-all, though must do some singing practice. Both my daughters have plans to go out so perhaps I should suggest something to Mr Inferior before he tries a spot of Unwarranted Optimism again.

Emily, are you heading back to France? How d'you get there?

bigTillyMint · 22/02/2015 10:51

Rudy, I think Beachy could be right - if she is not burning to meet him, maybe she is happy with it just being a virtual relationship, without all the hassle of the RL thing!
And I couldn't wait to get away to a city as a student - I felt that everyone knew everyone else's business. And then I felt like that in the city so I came to work in LondonGrin

Beachy, what is the significance of the Brazil nut?!

beachyhead · 22/02/2015 12:03

He ate large quantities of hazelnuts and Brazil nuts that I put out for the squirrels.... Post Christmas cleaning in February Smile

Thinking a cracked and crushed shell has lacerated his insides, poor bugger.

Blackduck · 22/02/2015 12:31

Trouble is, being a dog, that won't learn him .......

Hope vets bill isn't too eye watering Beachy...

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/02/2015 13:32

Poor Dylan, Beachy, hope he's OK, and that it doesn't hit your pocket too hard either.

BD - I am allergic to prawns, but still eat them, so it's not just dogs. May have to stop though, as it's getting worse, and a Benadryl beforehand doesn't always work...

DD2 has gone to the West End on her own, snarling, because nobody would go with her. Perhaps if she was more pleasant to people, like me and her sister, they might be more amenable.

I am baking a blueberry polenta cake.

lalsy · 22/02/2015 13:50

Poor Dylan, fingers crossed.

MrsS, stop playing russian roulette with your shellfish!

BTM, I'd love a BP meet. I'm nearly always around on Sunday as it is my Chores and Chivvying day (so occasionally have to fit around ds).

herbaceous · 22/02/2015 13:58

Nearly finished my assignment, crepeys! Just have to spell-check it, and get DP to read it for sense, and I'm free. Until three weeks time, when I have to hand the draft of the next one in.

DP is currently cooking roast chicken. I am starving, and it smells utterly delicious. DS is playing minecraft. All is calm. I would be getting him to do his homework, but I've lost it.

Pondering a spot of low-carbing. Now I don't eat bread or pasta, it would probably be easier than previous attempts. Not sure I can do the BIWI bootcamp approach, with not even any peas or fruit, however...
