Help with "smart casual" dress code...

...at a country estate owned by DH's boss please!

I somehow think that my version of smart casual (skinnies and a nice top) will not cut the mustard here! Want to look nice as it's an important day for DH wouldn't have been so fussed if it was just for me

Am anywhere between a size 6-10, am 5'2 so quite petite, and have recently suffered a miscarriage so am feeling quite self conscious Sad

Thanks for all advice in advance, I've been following the frumpy dress thread in awe of your suggestions! Grin

I would take that to mean definitely no jeans. Possibly tailored slim fit trousers and Nice top or a tea dress and pumps but I've never been to a country estate so would probably be very wrong.

Thanks for replying Holly Smile I have some lovely skinny navy chinos and brown leather loafers, so could final a nice top to go with those, but my fear is that the weather will be fierce (very likely in Scotland!) and then the loafers will appear to be a very foolish option! Grin

I'd say leather boots, skinny jeans, nice top, tweed jacket.

Ooh. I have all of the above apart from a nice top. I very rarely wear my tweed jacket for that very reason! Smile
