Why does every single mascara I try end up in flakes under my eyes?

Including waterproof ones. In fact the worst offender was an YSL waterproof.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone recommend one that won't do this?

I used to get this loads, I've been using the Benefit 'Are they real' one and that seems to stay put

What about having your lashes tinted?

I have very fair lashes and get mine done every 6- 8 weeks - costs about £8. But you could get it cheaper if you went to your local college

You can buy home tinting lash kits for next to nothing. It's not difficult to do especially if you use an old mascara brush.

I used to have them tinted, but they are thinner than they used to be and need volume as well as colour these days.

You need tubing mascara - Clinique do one but I prefer the L'oreal one, it is white one end and burgundy/red the other.

It's a different type of polymer to normal mascara and doesn't move!

I've tried the BeneFit one on recommendation, but that flaked too.

My lashes do curve upwards naturally - I'm wondering if it is friction with my eye sockets?!
