I'm really bored with it, it's just there, it floats & is fine but plentiful, I've cropped it, I've fringed it, I need to leap out of bed every day and be pleased with it.

That's impossible though, isn't it?

I will pay, I have before, but they give me a silly style that needs tons of blow drying, I ain't that girl.

I think I might go for a blunt fringe again, you lot give tons of good advice.

Help!

I suspect the crop was the result of another impulsive grab of the kitchen scissors.

Tbh, the thread reads like a manic episode unfolding.

DidThatSeriouslyJustHappen · 20/02/2015 22:51

Oh god knows. I just wandered on the thread, saw a pic and thought she was attractive. So I said so. Thought it was a light hearted board anyway.

Carii · 21/02/2015 02:15

I remember that photo of Hound from a thread months and months ago. It was a thread about what makes people look young or something.

Carii · 21/02/2015 02:40

I love your hair by the way Hound before and after. Really French looking.

dajmibuzi · 21/02/2015 14:20

I thought it looked French too. It's stunning. You're stunning. Understated, beautiful, quietly confident. You could grow it too and it would still look lovely. Hth.

looki · 21/02/2015 14:38

A blunt fringe would be great. But I think it's great already. Don't go too short or too slick looking although the pudding basin look might be great too.

StayGoldPonyBoy · 21/02/2015 14:46

Your hair type is like mine and I've had it Amelie style which looks cool, it's not as thick as hers and is wavy so you don't get the triangleness.

Blimey, I can say quite happily that I am not, nor have ever been in the grip of a manic episode, the crop happened because it was a precursor to when I shaved my head, so there was only one photo of it (in the interests of full disclosure, I'll put one on of the finished product, but, as I'm NEVER GOING TO DO THAT AGAIN, it was irrelevant to the thread).

It has to be said, I am impulsive with the kitchen scissors, but, it's not a pathology, a woman can just decide to chop away at her hair and not be in the grip of mental illness. I think you do a disservice to both women and people who do have mental health problems with your internet diagnosis there.

AND, I'm only impulsive with kitchen scissors because I have ridiculously bushy hair that can take a great deal of abuse, if it was poker straight & flat I'd stay well away from the home-remedy. I live very rurally & getting to a decent hairdressers is a pain and commitment that, quite frankly, I can't be arsed with.

I go once in a blue moon & say, 'Yay, do that to me', and they do, and it looks great, and then I don't keep it up, and then I get bored & hack away again.

So ALL the styles here are home hacks.

Do not fear for me. But thanks for the concern.

PS Fierce - Love That Quiff.

And thank you all for the nice comments, it was genuinely a 'what should I do with this barnett?' thread, but slightly disingenuous because I probably knew I would just hack at it again & see how the dice fell, I was just wondering just how I should hack.

And here's the shaved shot, I was in my right mind then too, life is long & you should probably experience baldness once, just to see how it works for you. (I hated it, wasn't for me, there you go).

he he.....You look great! Course your not manic. I live in the wilds of rural North Wales and cut my own hair when the mood takes me too. Grin

Germgirl - yes, I am, here he is, looking very beautiful.

(And apologies to anyone who didn't see that thread).

Oh he's gorgeous! Look at those long legs. Thank you :)

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 27/02/2015 23:34

I went & got it sorted a bit in the end, it was a bit poufy...

I have to accept it's never going to be the sleek barnett of my dreams though.

I think I like it like this, & I ain't going ombre, it has enough natural grey blonde to last me a lifetime.

Try A Kerasilk treatment at your hairdressers for the smoothness you desire!!

Wow, I actually think you look amazing with that buzzcut! You're beautiful though - I can't imagine you looking bad ever.

Fierce - that is an awesome cut - can't believe you did it yourself! My hair is short anyway, but I still wouldn't be brave enough to attempt something like that myself!

CaoNiMa · 03/03/2015 01:31

You look great with every hairstyle you've posted, Hound!
