I'm really bored with it, it's just there, it floats & is fine but plentiful, I've cropped it, I've fringed it, I need to leap out of bed every day and be pleased with it.

That's impossible though, isn't it?

I will pay, I have before, but they give me a silly style that needs tons of blow drying, I ain't that girl.

I think I might go for a blunt fringe again, you lot give tons of good advice.

Help!

Oh I was following this for the low maintenance bit until the mention of weekly blow dries.

I too have fine hair and I seriously cba with styling it, but if I don't wash it daily it just looks greasy and horrid :(

I like Miranda Sawyer's hair.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 17/02/2015 23:04

Massa is it wavy or straight?

Your hair looks the best in the original post. I like the messiness of it, I'd go for a blunt inch off and one of those flippy fringes that have a parting in. What alexa Chung used to have.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 18/02/2015 01:39

I chopped it all off.

Brazilian blow dries & somesuch confused me so much, I took the well trod path. The kitchen scissors.

I'm NOT SORRY.

Is it?

I've been on MN for nine years, I de-regged once & came back, & since returning, resolved never to post anything that I wouldn't be happy to be recognised by.

I'm pretty open, go search me.

I don't care.

Poker straight, Hound. It's rubbish.

burnishedsilver · 18/02/2015 07:34

Kitchen scissors, OMG!
You're pretty impulsive, aren't you?

Germgirl · 18/02/2015 07:50

I think your home cut looks great. If I did mine it'd be awful. I wanted to attempt the mn haircut once but luckily talked myself out of it. It wouldn't have ended well.
Anyway, it looks good. I second the ombré suggestion, would you consider that?
As an aside, are you the last who has Mabli the lurcher? How's the pup doing?

Germgirl · 18/02/2015 07:51

Last = Lady.

AgathaF · 18/02/2015 08:22

It looks great, although I really liked it before.

I have similar sort of hair, texture wise, although it's longer. I am so envious of you only needing to wash it once a week. I have to do mine each morning, plus dry and straighten, otherwise I look like an escapee from the bush - definitely not a good look!

StrawberryTallCake · 18/02/2015 19:10

OMBRÉ IS DEAD.

Not a bad cut op. Could do with a little thinning out to make it less pouffy, see hairdresser do not try yourself.

KissyBoo · 18/02/2015 19:50

this would look great on you. It's a 'feck it leave it to dry and do what it wants style' and I think it would suit your features.

You have had some really weird responses on here. I think you have done a cracking job on your hair yourself.

MassaAttack · 18/02/2015 20:04

That's bloody lovely, Kissy. Although (for me) the reality would be a flat, meh bob :(

DontDrinkandFacebook · 20/02/2015 06:07

It never ceases to amaze me how many people on MN claim to have attacked their own hair with the kitchen scissors. Confused

Surely you have wonky hair and uneven bits all over the place? Getting a decent cut can be hard enough using people who are supposedly trained to do it. God knows why anyone would be brave/stupid enough to just go at their hair themselves. Shock

But how can you cut your own hair properly when you can't make your arms work backwards? And you can't see what you are doing except for the front section? Confused

The only cut I'd ever attempt would be a total shave off with the clippers. At least I know I could get that all the same length. Grin

Fierceflora · 20/02/2015 11:55

Hound I love your impulsiveness with the kitchen scissors! I had hair like yours but blonde and on impulse did this... NO maintenance! Though my best mate says I now scare her - quifftastic

You could do with de bulking it a bit. Do you use conditioner? It looks a bit dry.

DidThatSeriouslyJustHappen · 20/02/2015 16:44

I also think it's unusual to post so many pics on MN, but I actually find it rather refreshing Smile

Hound, just throwing it out there.....you're hot. I say that as a bi lady with exceptionally good taste!

DidThatSeriouslyJustHappen · 20/02/2015 16:51

Oh, but hair advice. Ooops.

I don't think it looks massively different to before, but I don't think you should have gone for anything drastic anyway and it looks nice. I personally think you'd look even hotter good as a platinum blonde, or a red head.

AgathaF · 20/02/2015 16:57

Unusual posts.

DidThatSeriouslyJustHappen · 20/02/2015 17:11

Unusual how, AgathaF?

WipsGlitter · 20/02/2015 20:18

Well they're maybe a wee bit attention seeking. Perhaps the op was feeling a bit low and wanted everyone to pile in and say how fab she looked, as has happened on a few posts like this recently.
