Bags - like Mulberry but not as £££??

As I'm approaching 40 I've decided it's about time I got myself a decent handbag. I like the look of some of the Mulberry ones, but just can't countenance spending that much and also would like something a bit less obviously branded. Any suggestions for where I should look? Up till now all my bags have been middle-of-the road high street, eg. Nothing above the £50-60 mark and now I'd like to spend maybe £150-£250... any ideas?

I've had a look at Whistles, LK Bennett and Jigsaw and nothing is grabbing me - where else is there?

I've got so many to look at now - thanks so much everyone. Really like the look of Peony and Moore and also love the MBMJ one. Also Modalu. Are they stocked by any stores so I can go and have a browse?

I don't like my modalu pipa, it's too big and can't be worn over the shoulder. It's fine for work though.
Yes John Lewis stock most of these brands
It am after a cross body Kate spade. If anybody comes across one.

Oh, the Pippa was the one I was looking at... hmm. I think I just need a trip to John Lewis to have a look and also to work out what I really want - I think I'm after a mid-sized shoulder bag, possibly hobo style, with a cross-body strap too. Is JL the department store with the best selection do you think? Am in London so have quite a choice!

Pippa has no shoulder strap have to carry on arm is inconvenient I find

They are very similar styled but they don't claim to be the actual brand

I have bought stuff in the shop which is on the Kings Rd and has been there for 15 years. I assumed if they were infringing any IP rights they would have been shut down years ago

Don't know if the shop is still there

Marc by Marc Jacobs is my default expensive but not Mulberry priced go to brand. Lovely bags, wear really well.
