Water retention? Quick fixes please!

I've no idea what's caused this, I suspect there are two main things it could be – I had the dreaded lurgy recently (seems everyone’s had proper flu) and have had nausea for about 3 weeks, my stomach has felt very odd since it began. Yesterday was the first night I didn’t feel sick to my stomach – had some ginger biscuits, don’t know if that was what helped or if I’m just getting better finally. Anyway, I’m completely bloated – everywhere. Tummy (it’s usually flat, not washboard, but flat), my thighs, my knees, my arms! My jeans are as tight as could be, and these are one of my baggy pairs!! Over a year ago, when I was actually chubby, these jeans were not tight! I don’t think it’s possible to put on so much weight unexplained (with normal eating) overnight is it?!!? The other potential cause, I guess, is the tetanus booster jab I had yesterday.

So, folks, does anyone know how to get rid of all this water weight so I feel not so blown up anymore? I’ve heard of those shrinking wraps, but hoping for a cheaper, quicker fix…

I’m going to try and get to the gym tonight and run for a while, to see if that helps. Is there anything else I can do to get my knees back to a normal size?

Aquaban! Used short term it's brilliant, you'll wee like a racehorse.

Get the proper ones though, not the herbal ones as they're rubbish.

Plus, drink lots of water as counter intuitive as that may sound.

wraps are snake oil.

But this all sounds very odd, and I suggest you get medical advice before taking diuretics.

Drink a lot (more than you think possible) of water. Plain boring water.

Add lemon to it if you want variety
I knows it's seems counter intuitive but works and fast.
Pint an hour to start with and makes sure you are near a loo!

Second the advice to get a medical opinion today. If your kidneys are struggling already, diuretics could do some serious harm.

I've already been to the doctors three times in the past three weeks Sad I'll try the aquaban and see how it goes. If I'm not right after the weekend I'll see about getting checked out... again!
