Do you like this Mint Velvet coat?

I ordered this www.johnlewis.com/mint-velvet-double-faced-coat-grey/p1872552 and it has just arrived. I didn't realise it wasn't lined - didn't read the blurb properly! I wanted something that would be useful for work but also for casual wear in a fairly neutral colour for when the weather is a bit milder. I'd love some opinions as it's a lot of money to spend and I'm not always confident with my choices! Am 47, by the way.

Oh i really like that :) Its gorgeous and a fantastic price. You could get that and something for the rain!!!!
Is it more of a cardigan coat then?

Windowbasket · 12/02/2015 21:41

Yes - more of a cardigan style - no buttons. The mint velvet job is going back tomorrow! Tbh while I like a lot of their offerings, they are pricey especially given all the man-made fabrics. Makes more sense to stick with H&M!

I really like the Hobbs one too.

I bought a dress from them and it was so bloody expensive. What really nailed it for me was the fact it was dry clean only. It was expensive and dry clean. Cant think of anything worse. Means you cant even take the chance of putting it in the wash. I like very little of their things. I dont like asymmetric hemlines. They are untidy imo. I think you are doing the right thing. Im sure if you hunt there will be also other things out there that are much nicer and cheaper for the price.
