OK I need to get some sort of routine going re looking nice , can I ask you how often you would need to have a manicure ? my nails need to be short and I appear to be blessed in that they grow super quick as does my facial hair ! How often would you have your eyebrows and other facial areas attended to ? These are two areas that I am useless at myself .

Also I wish to go from being a non make up wearer to a make up wearer but without looking like I have just joined the circus . I have mascara , my skin is pretty good , smooth , not prone to spots , a few thread veins on the cheeks but other than that no major blemishes , but unsure what to go for foundation / coverage wise . Bit unsure about lipstick versus lipgloss , lipgloss seems sticky to me and maybe a bit too shiny for someone who is starting to wear make up , also I am older than 40 ? Should I avoid blusher ? or does it always enhance the face and what sort is easiest to apply ?

Thank you Smile

If you're new to foundation a bb cream is a good place to start. I like the olay bb cream.

You probably need a lipstick in a colour very close to your natural lip colour.

I would recommend getting your make up done in a dept store. MAC do good sessions and the £25 -I think is redeemable against products so the advice is free.

Tinted moisturiser as a base- no 7
Little blusher in the apple of your cheeks- benefit cheek tint is lovely
Mascara- Lancôme deficinals
Tinted lip gloss, Lancôme juicy tube in melon is lovely.

Eye brows- once a month for me, I get them waxed as threading hurts too much!
Nails- gel manicure every couple of months. Otherwise i keep them short, and clean. I used a cuticle balm every night- burts bees.

I do my own manicure once a week. Eyebrows threaded fortnightly and then pluck the odd stray as and when. Lip threaded fortnightly also. Haircut and coloured every other month.

Rather than Mac (who do gorgeous make up and makeovers but they do tend to do quite a full on look for a make up newbie), I'd go to a Laura Mercier or Bobbie Brown counter as their looks are a tad more natural.

Always iron clothes, get shoes reheeled etc. and I blow dry my hair everyday.
