Winter wedding without freezing

I just want a warm dress, preferably wool, with long, elbow or three-quarter sleeves. A style with a bit of structure to the neckline would be nice –a stand-up collar or something.

It is astoundingly hard to find one of these that's not black or navy, which I don't want.

Any ideas, anyone? Budget is firmly high-street and ideally not more than about £100, so I've mainly been looking in the sales.

Jaegar has a few that might work...
red
blue
purple
will shirt dress
red again
houndstooth with collar
red block
blue block

Faux Fox - you always come up with amazing suggestions and we all benefit from your guidance ! How I would love to go shopping with you - I am sure you would spot outfits that I would never see the potential of .....

Thank you, Fox! I did look at Jaeger though and unfortunately most of these are not in a size that would fit me and/or a colour that suits me.

The perils of shopping in the sale.

I do like the houndstooth one, but is it a bit dark/gloomy for a wedding?

Thanks gone Blush

You could brighten up the dogtooth with a big clutch bag and nice red nails/lips?

There is more choice if you don't mind other fabrics only
green or red
print
butterflies
green
plum
or try TK Maxx or the outnet for quality at a lower price:
DKNY black and white

What size/colour are you after?

OnlyLovers · 10/02/2015 17:52

The houndstooth is sold out. Sad

I really think I need wool. I've been to too many spring/winter weddings and been miserably cold.

I'm a size small/x-small/6/8/10 depending on the shop and the item. It varies wildly. Grin

I think I should avoid black, navy and white. I suit corals and some hot pinks, darkish greens, teal, cool brown neutrals (so not 'yellow' tones like camel but more cocoa-type shades).

Ebay?
Chloe teal
armani red
beautiful missoni
hobbs khaki

tethersend · 10/02/2015 18:24

this would look great with a fake fur jacket.

OnlyLovers · 10/02/2015 19:02

Not keen on the eBay ones.

Like the J Crew but probably in the green –and yes, it'd look nice with a little fur jacket, which I'd also have to buy. Smile

Quite like the Cos one but I'd have to see the colour IRL as that could look either OK or really bad on me.

Thanks all!
