Grey opaque tights

Ok so it's not really style & beauty as its school uniform but dd is really struggling to get grey school tights since she has outgrown her age 13 ones.

I've been to M&S, BHS, Primark, New Look & Boots.

Nowhere has a proper grey colour (not the bluish pewter) grey tights in either girls age 14/15 or Ladies XS/S

It's too cold for socks & even the largest grey knee length socks in M&S only come half way up her leg.

I've got grey tights (ladies sizes) from tesco and sainsburys. The tesco ones are nice and thick.
I think H&M have grey tights too.

Next have them - a 3 pack is £9. Glad DD has navy though - wherever I buy them from primark through to falke I've learnt to accept that they are basically all going to need replacing every month or so - primark prices all the way since that sunk in!

I have proper grey ones from m and s. Opaque, wooly, other £5 or £6 a pair. They are really good. From the womenswear but, come in s, m, l and xl.

I'll have to make a special trip to Tesco then

I have these in charcoal.

The John Lewis school ones are really great - much better than the supermarket ones.

You can get JL to deliver to a nearly by Waitrose for free.

balletgirlmum · 09/02/2015 13:16

Lol. Waitrose won't open in my city, we are not posh enough!!!!

She's had JL school ones before but now they are too small. We go there maybe 2-3 times a year as its 50 miles away.

I may have to resort to ordering the ladies ones but £10.50 including postage is a lot for a pair of tights.

I had to buy DD some grey tights and everywhere was out of stock - M&S, Tesco all the usual suspects.

Then I remembered JL deliver to Waitrose and there is one near work so it was a massive savior. Same situation with PE pumps earlier in the year.

Sorry I didn't realise until after I posted that you want ladies sizes.

I have some lovely M&S Autograph merino wool tights that I have been wearing all winter. I think they were possibly meant to be black but they are charcoal grey and suitably "schoolish". And by the looks of the website, out of stock. Drat.

eBay, 100 denier, quick delivery. I have a pair in most colours.

Pippin8 · 09/02/2015 15:17

I've just bought some from peacocks for £6. Really soft & quite good quality.
