Where can I get knickers for dd that don't 'go up her bum'?

Her terminology not mine. I need some that hug her bum cheeks. Any ideas?

The Boden ones are expensive. You need a discount code but they do last forever. One pack is enough if you do 2 light loads a week assuming she only wear one pair a day. I just buy one pack a season and we have some smaller ones that we keep for emergencies that are a but small bit good to have spares in case the wah sing machine breaks or when we come back from holiday and the washing hasn't been done.

Dd doesn't like the shorts as even though they have a lot if fabric the design of them means that they ride up and giver her the wedgie and also the crotch/gusset tends to be quite narrow so if she's sat crossed legged at school in a skirt or dress they show a bit too much.

The john Lewis briefs usually have good buttock coverage and a wider gusset much cheaper than Boden too. M&s is a bit hit and miss. They say briefs but can still be on the skimpier side. The seam free ones she doesn't like as they are often more of a man made feel and not proper cotton pants.

I had the same issue years ago with dd1 now aged 22 - I got her petit bateau pants as they are flat pants rather than rooshed around the waist and this seemed to be the difference as to wether they crept up her bum…..

My daughter has a right going on with pants she likes sainsburys pants they seem to be a big pant, I always buy a few sizes up she's skinny tho but small pants are annoying

M&S santoni seam free shorts(other short types not as good),H&M shorts and Vertbaudet shorts are decent length bum huggers that don't ride up.

Order the Boden ones (using a 15 or 20% off code and free delivery & returns). I would bet my life you wont want to return them and that you will be on here recommending them soon! I've yet to hear of anyone who is not a complete convert after the first pack. Cost per wear is tiny and they are WAY better than any others - honestly! You only need one pack as seven pairs is plenty!

I used to get Primark short styles for my DD but they're not doing any cotton ones in her size anymore, just a revolting synthetic fabric.

H&M do the shorts style ones and my DD loves them as they stay in place all day and don't cling or bunch in any particular area. She's very active and says they're great for sport. Think they're £5 for three. Wash and tumble dry well.

Boys ones. Tend to be thicket elastic and more generous in the bum. Sainsbury's do plain colours.

Another vote for H&M shorts.

My nearly 10 year old wears a age 12/13 and her favorite knickers are from Primark (the matching ones to their crop tops) lovely soft stretchy fabric, short style and come in a hanger in sets of twos

Shorts doesn't need to be expensivE. Asda and primarks are both fine

I know I'm slightly older, lol, but I find short style underwear helps in the wedgie department.

If she's an 11 in clothes, I doubt the mini Boden ones would be big enough. I would get some ladies pants from M&S in a size 6. They don't need to be shorts ones, as long as they are a decent fit, they shouldn't go up bum.

For those of you with younger girls prone to wedgies can I reccomend Hanna Anderson girls undies. Proper big "paper moon" knickers in lovely thick organic cotton.

I,be found them impossible to buy in the UK, but a lovely American MNetter bought and sent some to me ( and refused to take payment or a gift, I love MNetters). They are 3 years old, still sparkly white and still fit. The best, and I,ve bought from everywhere.

Oh and I don't want to get all "right on and ranty" but it galls having to buy "boypants" for my dd - no manufacturers/buyers I just want some fucking girls knickers with more than 2 inches of material in them!.

Oh I forgot. Debenham do a nice set of hipster style pants. They fit lovely and wash and dry well too

those h&M ones someone linked to are really good. Boden ones are good too. They are expensive but theyre thicker nice cotton than normal knickers.

Don't buy Next, they are the skimpiest knickers I have ever bought DD1 (and I think the most expensive) I gave never seen a smaller crutch in kids pants!

DD1 loves boy shorts. I recently had to buy her knickers to wear under leotards as she was in pantomime, and bought age 9-10 briefs from Tesco. Bit baggy, saved by the elastic, good coverage. DD1 us almost 8, wearing age 8-9 clothes, tall but fairly skinny.

DD2 likes DD1's pants and nicks whatever she can. Knickers go straight from DD1's drawer to DD2's drawer, there is a 3.5 year age gap. So lots of DD2's (4) knickers are age 6-7

The ones Branleuse has linked to are the same ones DD1 has, but hers are plain white with coloured stitching/ribbon (they needed to go under a white leotard)

DTD1 has this issue and she can't wear the shorts/boxer style, she gets on a lot better with pants rather than briefs or anything 'small cut'. She is the same as me- long bodied and needs more bum cheek coverage! DTD2 can wear the shorts but she has slightly different proportions. Both have M&S but different styles. I can't see online the pants DTD1 has at the moment but they are def not briefs or shorts...oh and size up because they inevitably shrink a bit and then the coverage isn't as good.

Do you get Jockey in UK? This is the best underwear i have ever bought for the dc and dh. We have never had a pair where the elastic has worn out (ds is still wearing pairs that are 2 years old and still look perfect- granted they were a bit big when we first bought them), they get chucked out if they are grown out of or like that one pair the puppy got hold of

Dd (12) prefers them too. She also hates those that give her a 'wedgie'. She just has the bikini brief style which are just right for her.
